JOURNALISTIC MINIMALISM?

 By Bob Walsh

Second Amendment to the United States Constitution

I still get a newsletter every now and again from the Second Amendment Foundation, even though I am no longer a member.  I quit them years ago because I got tired of their incessant begging for money and more money and more money.

There was an interesting but disturbingly incomplete piece in their most recent newsletter.  It seems that the Pennsylvania State Police and the Montgomery County S. O. are demanding that applicants for certain unspecified firearms related licenses are demanding that the applicants for these licenses sign a premises search waiver up in order to get whatever license or permit is being talked about in the article.  ( I am guessing this is a carry permit but it could be something else.  The article is not even remotely clear on that.)

As one might expect various Second Amendment groups, and pretty much anybody who has ever read the Constitution of the United States, have a problem with this.  Those groups have filed an action in the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania, presumably to prevent them from enforcing this procedure.
