Jayson Magrum doesn't have to register as a sex offender anymore unless that is required in the beyond.
A woman in Tucson was involved in a serious incident on Friday of last week that could have gone very much sideways but did not.
The
unnamed 54 year old woman was at home at 0200 on Friday morning when
things went to hell, and the news article is a little thing and vague,
but this is basically it. The woman saw Jayson Magrum, 42, who is a
registered sex offender, attempted to force his way into her home in
some unspecified manner. The woman yelled at him to leave but he
continued to try to work his way in. At that time the resident got her
gat, made some more noise and finally fired a warning shot thru a
window. (Not smart at all.) At that time Magrum reached "into the
home" (?) and attempted to disarm the resident. The resident then
started blasting.
Magrum
then retreated to the driveway and assumed ambient air temperature. The
Pima County S O is investigating the matter but don't seem to be
interested in charging the woman.
In
CA the woman would be arrested for firing the warning shot and for
shooting the man because (if the news article is sort-of correct, which
may not be true) it seems he never actually entered the home. They CA
authorities would then assist the man's family in filing a civil suit
against the resident. Fortunately most of the cops and prosecutors in
Arizona are not stupid.
