The Coffee City police
The teeming metropolis of Coffee City, Texas, has decided
to deactivate the Coffee City P D and fire the chief due to unhappiness
with how the department was being run.
Chief
Johnjay Portillo was placed on suspension September 1 following
questions about the backgrounds of officers he hired. Since taking over
in 2021 the department has expanded 400%, growing to 50 officers.
About half of those 50 had been suspended, fired, demoted or otherwise
parted company from their previous department. The city has a total of
about 250 residents. That is a hell of a lot of cops for 250
residents.
Once a new Chief is hired the current officers will be free to reapply for their old jobs.
The Henderson County S. O. is holding down the fort in the meantime.

Sounds like it was just a badge factory for extra jobs.
