Yesterday the state assembly voted by 53-14 to give unemployment insurance payments to striking workers. A LOT of people who have loud voices (i.e. SAG-AFTRA) will no doubt be REALLY appreciative. Also, for what it is worth, the current pot of money for this purpose is very, very deficient. It still owes the feds $18 BILLION from covid rip-offs.
There is also a bill in the works to bump the CA minimum wage to $20 per hour.
And the God-Emperor of the formerly great state of California, Gavin "God I Want To Be President" Newsom has announced that, if DiFi folds her tent before the end of her term, he will appoint a Black female who is not currently running for the seat to fill in until the 2024 election. I guess he will find one somewhere. He could run an ad on Craig's List.
