Sonya M. McKnight, 57, is a
Magisterial District Judge in Cumberland County, PA. She has been on
suspension without pay for several months for fixing a traffic ticket
for her son.
It seems
that on February 10 she entered the house of her ex-boy-friend, Michael
McCoy, after he dumped her. She shot him once in the head while he
slept. The shot didn't kill him but he did lose one eye in the
encounter.
Judge McKnight is now a guest of the county on various charges.
McCoy
woke up with a splitting headache and was unable to see. McKnight
tried to imply that he had somehow shot himself in his sleep. She had
GSR on her hands and the gun that shot him was hers.
Back in 2019 she shot her estranged husband in the crotch and claimed self-defense. She was not charged.
