A bill has just been introduced in the CA legislature which would, if passed into law, accomplish the following.
Insurance
companies would be mandated to inquire of their policy holders as to
whether or not they have guns in their house or on their property, how
many guns, and the manner in which they are routinely stored.
The insurance companies would be mandated to send this information in to the government.

California is a crazy place. I voted yesterday. There were a few questions/propositions hinting to Texas leaving the union.
