Indira Talwani is a U. S. District Court Judge for the
Massachusetts District. She is an Obama appointee. She just decided
that the federal government MUST continue to fund Planned Parenthood.
It
should be noted that the point of contention is NOT a Presidential
Order. It is a piece of fucking legislation passed by both houses of
congress and signed by the president. It does NOT provide funding for
Planned Parenthood for the upcoming budget year.
Apparently
Judge Talwani has never bothered to read the Constitution or at the
very least does not understand it. Congress provides funding. Or,
sometimes, does NOT provide funding. The President signs, or vetoes,
bills passed to him. Judge Talwani apparently believes that she has
more power than either congress or the President, at least to the point
that she can order them to spend money on programs that they do not wish
to continue to fund.
I
strongly suspect that she will get slapped down HARD. She should also
be impeached for being an idiot. I doubt that second thing is going to
actually happen. But it should.
