2nd 'son of Hamas' flees, blasts 'racist terrorist' group's corruption
Israel Hayom
July 5, 2019
Suheib Yousef, son of Hamas co-founder Sheikh Hassan Yousef and younger brother of “Green Prince” Mosab Hassan Yousef, deserted his post in Turkey, flew to an undisclosed Asian country and then gave an interview to an Israeli journalist in which he excoriated the terrorist organization’s corruption.
Mosab Yousef became known as the “Green Prince” during the decade he worked with the Shin Bet security agency to thwart Hamas terrorist attacks.
In the interview, which aired Wednesday on Israel’s Channel 12 television, Yousef told Palestinian affairs correspondent Ohad Hemo that his last position was in Hamas “political branch” in Turkey, which he claimed is actually a spy unit utilizing advanced equipment to listen in on top PA leaders in Ramallah. He added that the unit also spies on Israel and other Arab countries, but would not elaborate.
According to Yousef, Hamas intelligence gathering “isn’t for the Palestinian cause,” but is rather sold “to Iran in return for financial assistance,” which arrives through Turkish banks.
Yousef accused Hamas of being exclusively committed to expanding its power by any means necessary.
“The point of the attacks in the West Bank is to kill civilians, not for the aim of resistance, or Jerusalem, not for liberating Palestinian land, and not even because they hate Jews,” said Yousef.
“They send out these innocents because they want to export the crisis [from Gaza] to the West Bank."
He slammed Hamas for its ruthless quest for power “by force.”
"If Hamas gave up power, there would be no problems,” he said, calling the organization “a racist terrorist organization that is dangerous for the Palestinian people."
Yousef also chastized Hamas leaders for sending other people’s children to commit terrorist acts. “I want them to send their own children to carry out attacks,” he said. “Why doesn’t [Hamas leader] Ismail Haniyeh go to the fence to throw stones?"
He said he was “shocked by the behavior” of leaders who ignore the hardship and poverty in Gaza while living opulently in Turkey.
"[They] live in fancy hotels and luxury towers, their kids learn at private schools, and they are very well paid by Hamas,” he said.
He revealed that they enjoyed inviting each other to expensive meals in “the best restaurants” in Turkey.
“They pay $200 for one course for one person and a family in Gaza lives on $100 per month,” he said.
Throughout the interview, Yousef called the Jewish people “people of the book” and stressed that Muslims “have no animosity toward you."
He also noted, however, that he never worked with Israel, but remained loyal to Hamas until he was exposed to its corruption.

TIN ROOF LICKING WALMARTIAN SHOULD BE DRAWN AND QUARTERED
Woman who licked tub of ice cream faces up to 20 years in prison
By Sophie Lewis
CBS News
July 4, 2019
A woman in Lufkin, Texas, walked into her local Walmart, opened a container of Blue Bell, licked the ice cream and then put the container back in the freezer. Now, she faces up to 20 years in prison.
The woman can be seen in a now-viral video posted to Twitter Saturday. The person recording can be heard saying, "Lick it, lick it. Oh, you foul. Put it back, put it back."
Blue Bell put out a statement Monday that confirms the ice cream that was licked was never sold. "Our staff recognized the location in the video, and we inspected the freezer case," the statement reads. "Based on security footage, the location and the inspection of the carton, we believe we may have recovered the half gallon that was tampered with. Out of an abundance of caution, we have also removed all Tin Roof half gallons from that location."
"Food tampering is not a joke, and we will not tolerate tampering with our products," the statement concludes. Blue Bell creameries said they told police as soon as one of their employees was able to identify the store where the incident took place.
Lufkin Police tweeted:
VIRAL BLUE BELL VIDEO INVESTIGATION: Our detectives are working to confirm the identity of the female suspect seen in a viral video of her licking a half-gallon of Blue Bell "Tin Roof" ice cream in a Lufkin Walmart store around 11 p.m. June 28. Once her identity is verified, detectives will proceed with getting a warrant for her arrest on a charge of second-degree felony tampering with a consumer product.
As that portion of the investigation continues, detectives are focusing on identifying the male (in the green shirt) behind the camera seen in images of the two entering the store together.
Detectives will continue to work through the holiday on this case.
Anyone who can identify this man is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 639tips.com.
Now, Lufkin Police detectives believe they have identified the woman based on surveillance footage, and are working to identify the man who recorded the video. They intend to arrest the woman on a charge of second-degree felony tampering with a consumer product, which carries a punishment of 2-20 years, Lufkin police told CBS News in a statement.
"We're appalled that someone would do this," Lufkin Director of Public Safety Gerald Williamson said in a statement. "We take it incredibly seriously and we're acting on it as the major crime that it is."
The department is also consulting with the FDA regarding possible federal charges. The investigation is ongoing.

PROFOUND MASSIVE DISASTER
by Bob Walsh
Something truly terrible happened. The Jim Beam warehouse in Kentucky caught fire and burned to the ground, along with much of the stock.
There was also a significant earthquake near Ridgecrest, California that rattled Pasadena, but since it is in the greater LA area nobody with any brains gives a fuck.
Nice thing about living in a cardboard box, your flat screen is not likely to fall off the wall and crush you.

CALIFORNIA NOW SAFE FROM THE SCOURGE OF HAIRSTYLE DISCRIMINATION
by Bob Walsh
Yes, it's true. The formerly great state of California is now the first state in the union to ban discrimination against people based on their hair style, assuming that their hair style is associated with their racial identity.
So, if you are Black, or at least feel that you should be Black, you can wear a ten-inch Afro at work but if you are White your employer can still fire your ass for wearing a bizarre, extreme hair style at work.
Courts have typically held that a hair style is changeable, so that there is no basis for a discrimination complaint based on hair style. Recently SCOTUS declined to hear a case from a woman who complained that she did NOT get a job because of her hair style.
The bill was written by CA. state senator Holly Mitchell, of LA, who is Black and who typically wears her hair in dreadlocks.
We might not be safe from murderous psychopathic undocumented Democrats, but as of January 1 we will be safe from hairstyle discrimination. Shit, I feel better already.

'Seeking asylum is a legal right': Democratic Presidential candidate Cory Booker causes controversy by helping immigrants in Mexico return to the US after they were deported as he is slammed for 'breaking the law'
Daily Mail
July 4, 2019
Corey Booker, 50, visited the Mexican border city Ciudad Juarez from El Paso, Texas, to help escort five women into the US after they had previously been sent back to Mexico.
He was joined by immigration rights attorneys and advocates to get the women, who are fleeing domestic violence, admitted back into the US.
The Senator caused controversy with his actions, with people accusing him of breaking the law.
They claimed that the candidate appeared to be in violation of a law which prohibits 'bringing or attempting to bring unauthorized people into the United States in any manner whatsoever, even at a designated port of entry'.
EDITOR’S NOTE; Fleeing to keep from getting beat up by their husbands does not qualify as grounds for asylum.
Booker should now be required to take the five women to his New Jersey home and care for them there.

The documentary focuses on three people: Kobayashi, Chestnut, and George Shea, the man who, along with his brother, Rich, turned the Nathan's Famous contest into a major ESPN event.

AMERICAN CARNAGE
Remembering President Nixon's infamous July 4th celebration headlined by Bob Hope and Billy Graham that ended with tear-gas, naked protesters and a mass stampede
Daily Mail
July 4, 2019
President Nixon's infamous July 4, 1970 'Honor America Day' celebration was organized under the guise that it would heal the country's deep divisions but in reality, the event was an effort to drum up support for the Vietnam War and his unpopular administration.
The White House bused in 350,000 Nixon supporters from around the country to attend the day of festivities that took place in front of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.
10,000 protestors and marijuana activists organized a counter- demonstration called the 'smoke-in' where they passed around red, white and blue joints, striped down naked and waved Viet Cong flags while singing anti-war chants.
Police attempted to quell the demonstration with tear-gas which lead to a massive stampede.

PALESTINIAN TERRORISTS AWARDED 12 PERCENT RAISE
PA increases terrorists' salaries by 12%, media watchdog says; Abbas has vowed to keep up payments "even if the PA has to spend its last penny to do so."

Israel Hayom
July 4, 2019
The Palestinian Authority paid terrorists and their families 234 million shekels ($65.6 million) in the first five months of 2019, documents obtained by the Palestinian Media Watch revealed Wednesday. This figure represents an 11.8% increase in the stipends budget, underscoring Ramallah's distorted priorities, as the PA claims it is on the brink of financial collapse.
The Palestinian Authority routinely spends hundreds of millions of dollars on payments to terrorists imprisoned in Israel and to the families of terrorists killed while carrying out attacks against Israel.
In 2018, for example, Ramallah spent $135 million on salaries and other payments to terrorists. In 2017, terrorists' stipends. came to $358 million – 7% of the Palestinian Authority’s total budget for that year and about 20% of the foreign aid it receives. In 2016, the PA allocated $322 million to these payments.
According to the PA's own public records for the first five months of 2019, Ramallah has spent an average of NIS 46,834,400 ($13,121,700) on terrorists' salaries every month.
"Based on this monthly average, PA expenditure on the ‘Pay-for-Slay’ salaries to terrorist prisoners in 2019 should reach NIS 562 million [$157 million], compared to NIS 502 million [$135 million] in 2018. This amounts to an 11.8% rise, in PA salaries to terrorist prisoners in 2019," The Jewish Press quoted PMW Director Itamar Marcus as saying in the report.
In late 2017, Israel passed a law by which it deducts the PA's payment to terrorists from the taxes it collects on Ramallah's behalf as part of agreements set in the 1993 Oslo Accords.
In response, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has refused to accept the adjusted revenues, which are close to $100 million a month, and has declared that the PA will continue to pay terrorists' salaries "even if it has to spend its last penny to do so."
Abbas' decision to reject the monthly transfer of funds has exacerbated the financial crisis in the Palestinian Authority.
Palestinian Media Watch official Maurice Hirsch noted that "the fact that the Palestinian Authority continues to pay salaries to terrorists is despicable. The fact that they have increased these payments while claiming to be suffering from a financial crisis and begging international donors to increase their donations just shows their contempt for the donors."
He added that it will be "interesting to see if this latest PA admission of increased expenditures on terror will influence the international community’s financial support of the PA, or Israeli steps to alleviate the PA financial crisis."
Earlier this week, Israeli officials said that concerns that the PA will collapse financially have prompted the government to consider waiving NIS 200 million ($56 million) in monthly tax payments to Israel for fuel.

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY
A day to appreciate the birth of a great nation
The 4th is more than just a day off from work for a picnic in some public park, or a backyard barbeque, or for watching a fireworks display. I’m afraid today's younger generations take this great land of ours for granted. That’s a shame.
The 4th should be a day for all Americans to appreciate what this great nation represents. It’s spelled out in the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights in our Constitution.
For me, as a refugee from Nazi Germany, this day is special to me. This country saved me and my parents from the Holocaust. For that I am forever grateful to the good old USA. And that’s why I did not wait to be drafted during WW2 - on my 17th birthday, I volunteered to serve in the U.S. Army.
This country also gave my father the opportunity to work in his trade so that eventually he was able to stop renting apartments or houses for us to reside in by buying his family a small home.
And that’s why I hate Colin Kaepernick and those who support his utterly shameful disrespect for our flag and country. That, by the way, includes sportswear giant Nike.
God bless America!
Chivis Martinez, a Borderland Beat reporter, put it this way:
Happy Independence Day 2019!!
I am deeply patriotic. I attribute that to my grandmother who left Jalisco at the age of 18 to venture into a new world. We studied the constitution together as she became a naturalized citizen of the United States. She had me promise to never disrespect the privilege to vote, by failing to exercise the privilege.
I am Mexican-American. I am equally proud of being each; I would not want to be anything else.
The United States gave me opportunities. I can think of nowhere on the planet where a little girl of such humble beginnings, who grew up in a tiny 500 sq ft home, could think that the world was filled with possibilities.
And every goal I succeeded or surpassed. It is because of this amazing nation.
Today and every day I celebrate The United States of America.
Have a safe and sane 4th !!

IF FREDERICA WILSON HAD HER WAY, I SHOULD BE PROSECUTED
Florida Democrat says those 'making fun' of members of Congress online should be 'prosecuted'
By Lukas Mikelionis
Fox News
July 3, 2019
Democrat Rep. Frederica Wilson said people who are “making fun” of members of Congress online should be “prosecuted.”
The Florida congresswoman made the comments on Tuesday outside of the Homestead Temporary Shelter for Unaccompanied Children in her home state.
"Those people who are online making fun of members of Congress are a disgrace, and there is no need for anyone to think that is unacceptable [sic],” Wilson said.
“We're gonna shut them down and work with whoever it is to shut them down, and they should be prosecuted,” she added. “You cannot intimidate members of Congress, frighten members of Congress. It is against the law, and it's a shame in this United States of America.”
Wilson’s comments came amid a controversy over a Facebook group that includes Border Patrol agents and where they allegedly mocked and posted graphic content about members of Congress, including New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
The website ProPublica posted a story Monday headlined “Inside the Secret Border Patrol Facebook Group Where Agents Joke About Migrant Deaths and Post Sexist Memes.”
In addition to showing indifference toward the deaths of migrants, members made vulgar jokes about Ocasio-Cortez and other members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus ahead of their visit a Border Patrol facility in Texas on Monday, the story alleged.
Wilson also blamed President Trump for people losing respect for Congress and the White House, saying he has “taken this country to its knees.”
She once accused Trump of being “hateful towards black people” and declined to participate in the State of the Union address in 2018.
The congresswoman also rose to prominence in 2017 after she leaked the conversation Trump had with the Gold Star widow whose husband died in Niger and criticized the president for being “so insensitive” after he said that the slain soldier “knew what he signed up for…but when it happens, it hurts anyway.”
EDITOR’S NOTE: The black bitch also told CNN that the people running migrant detention facilities are all white and try to take in as many migrants as possible in order to make more money.
Oh shit! Now I’m liable to be prosecuted because I called Wilson a black bitch … which she is!

FOUR CALIFORNIA DOCTORS UNDER INVESTIGATION OVER VACCINE EXEMPTIONS
by Bob Walsh
Four medical doctors in the formerly great state of California are under investigation over issuance of medical exemptions from California's "mandatory" school vaccination law.
Two of the doctors were ratted out by a Kaiser doctor. Apparently they wrote exemption for two rugrats who are normally Kaiser patients and listed a shitload of reasons the rugrats should not be vaccination, none of which line up with their actual medical records.
At least one of the four doctors offers a $97 "program" to "help protect your child from the One Size Fits All California vaccine mandate."
Records for all four doctors have been subpoenaed by the Dept. of Consumer Affairs, which runs the organization that oversees the medical profession in our fair state, the California Medical Board.

LIBERALS TELL HEALTH NAZIS TO BUGGER OFF

The voters of the People's Republic of San Francisco have decided that the recently enacted law to totally prohibit the sale of vaping products within their jurisdiction is bullshit and have already gathered enough signatures to put the issue on the ballot in November. They needed less than 10,000. They got over 20,000 signatures.
Juul, a SF based producer and retailer of vaping products, spent about $500k to get this on the ballot.
The Board of Stupidvisors approved the ordinance unanimously.

AOC CLAIMS TRUMP IS HEADING THE US TOWARD FACISM
Jewish community outraged as AOC repeats claim that migrant detention centers are concentration camps and warns the US is 'headed towards fascism' under Trump
Daily Mail
July 3, 2019
US Rep. for New York Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was criticized by the Jewish community only on Tuesday after tweeting of migrant detention centers in El Paso, Texas: ''These are concentration camps.'
Among the over 11,000 replies to the post, people who identified as Jewish in their Twitter bios responded to AOC with outrage over the comparison, accusing her of disrespecting Holocaust survivors.
Offline, AOC said the United States is 'headed to fascism' after she toured detention centers at the border and the noted the 'horrifying' conditions in which women and children were being held.
Ocasio-Cortez tweeted Tuesday that they were 'were locked in a cage under armed guard', 'drank out of a toilet' and 'given food of such poor nutritional value, for so long, that it gave [them] mouth sores'.
'Are we headed to fascism? Yes. I don't think there's a question,' the congresswoman told Yahoo News on Monday after the El Paso visit. 'If you actually take the time to study, and to look at the steps, and to see how government transforms under authoritarian regimes, and look at the political decisions and patterns of this president, the answer is yes.'
AOC doubled down on her claim that the Customs and Border Patrol centers were like World War II as she claimed the crisis was 'completely engineered by [Donald Trump]'.
EDITOR’S NOTE: I disagree with my fellow Jews who are outraged at AOC over her use of the term concentration camp. I do not think she meant to disrespect Holocaust survivors. Besides that, I do not believe the term ‘concentration camp’ in and of itself should not be offensive to Jewish people. There are concentration camps and there were Nazi concentration camps, a big difference.

ISRAELIS MARCH FOR FAMILY, MEANING ONE MOTHER AND ONE FATHER
Counter-movement to the LGBT agenda in Israel is gaining steam
Israel Today
July 3, 2019
Hundreds of people took to the streets of Haifa to march for families –one mother and one father. According to the organizers of the event, the march is an initiative by both religious and secular citizens. Several Messianic Jewish families were seen at the march as well.
The Family March was an opportunity for Israelis to express their belief in the importance of traditional family values. “We received massive support from everyone,” said one of the event organizers. “Religious, secular, new immigrants and old citizens alike all supported us. A citizen who made aliyah from Russia translated the pamphlet to Russian and distributed it among his friends, the support was tremendous.”
According to Attorney Na’ama Sela, another of the event’s organizers, Facebook closed their page calling for people to join the march. “We are being fought on all possible fronts. We have learned that Freud may have been wrong, the strongest impulse in man is not the sex drive, but the desire to silence the other,” she commented.
LGBT organizations have succeeded in imposing their gay-family agenda on the education system in Israel beginning right from kindergarten. “There is an open debate on sexuality in school and on the street, while the ordinary family disappeared from the public agenda,” Sela said. “Our organization began with a random meeting about six months ago, and we began to talk and exchange views on issues of society and morality, and gradually we realized that everyone felt that something was happening in the State of Israel and that it was not a good thing,” she explained.

NJ JUDGE DISTINGUISHES BETWEEN SEXUAL ASSAULT AND RAPE SO THAT A 16-YEAR-OLD RAPIST WILL BE ABLE TO ATTEND A GOOD COLLEGE
Judge under fire for going easy on accused rapist who’s ‘from a good family’
By Natalie Musumeci
New York Post

A New Jersey appeals court has blasted a state family court judge — and reversed his decision — after he refused to try as an adult a 16-year-old boy accused of raping an intoxicated 16-year-old girl and sending video of the alleged sex assault to his buddies.
In a ruling last year in Monmouth County, New Jersey Superior Court Judge James Troiano denied prosecutors’ motion to try the teen as an adult and instead said: “This young man comes from a good family who put him into an excellent school where he was doing extremely well.”
“He is clearly a candidate for not just college but probably for a good college. His scores for college entry were very high,” said Troiano, who also detailed the boy’s extracurricular activities, including that he was an Eagle Scout.
Prosecutors say the boy, only identified in court documents as G.M.C., sexually assaulted the girl while at a pajama-themed basement party packed with about 30 other adolescents in New Jersey where alcohol was flowing.
The drunken boy had walked off to a closed-off, darkened area of the room with the visibly drunk victim and filmed himself on his cellphone penetrating the girl from behind with her bare torso exposed and her head hanging down, according to prosecutors.
He then sent the clip to several friends, and in the days following the incident, texted his pals, saying: “When your first time having sex was rape.”
In denying the waiver to try the teen as an adult, Troiano noted: “I still in my mind … distinguish between a sexual assault and a rape … in my mind there is a distinction.”
“There have been some, not many, but some cases of sexual assault involving juveniles which in my mind absolutely were the traditional case of rape,” said the judge, who added that those cases generally involved two or more males and a gun or weapon.
The judge expressed concern that the prosecutor did not indicate that she explained to the victim and her mother “the devastating effect a waiver would have on G.M.C.’s life,” according to the appeals court.
The appeals court last month reversed Troiano’s ruling, paving the way for the case to be moved from family court to a grand jury, where the teen boy will be treated as an adult, the New York Times reported.
“That the juvenile came from a good family and had good test scores we assume would not condemn the juveniles who do not come from good families and do not have good test scores from withstanding waiver applications,” the appellate panel said in the 14-page ruling.
Troiano is one of two family court judges whom appeals courts in New Jersey have admonished in recent weeks over similar cases, the Times reported.
The appellate decision reversed Middlesex County family court Judge Marcia Silva’s decision to not try a 16-year-old boy as an adult after he was accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in 2017.
Silva had said in court that even if the girl’s claim was true, “the offense is not an especially heinous or cruel offense beyond the elements of the crimes that the waiver statute intends to target,” NJ.com reported.

COLIN KAEPERNICK IS QUARTERBACKING NIKE
Nike’s Patriotic Fumble: The company makes an in-kind donation to Trump’s re-election
By the Editorial Board
The Wall Street Journal
July 2, 2019
Colin Kaepernick may no longer be a quarterback, but he’s calling the plays at Nike . The athletic shoe company was scheduled to release a sneaker featuring the “Betsy Ross flag” this week, but the former San Francisco 49er thought it wasn’t a good idea. The Air Max 1 USA, featuring the Founding-era American flag with 13 white stars arranged in a circle to represent the original colonies, would have gone on sale to mark the Fourth of July holiday. Not any more.
He commend Nike executives for their original patriotic instincts, assuming they were sincere, but they didn’t think this one through. Last year the company launched an ad campaign featuring a black-and-white photo of Mr. Kaepernick bearing the words “Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything.”
The slogan is an allusion to Mr. Kaepernick’s belief that the NFL declined to sign him after his 2016 season, not because he played badly (though by most measures he did) but because he knelt during the National Anthem to protest police brutality against African-Americans.
Remember the National Anthem? Normally we sing it standing and facing the American flag. Did no one at Nike foresee a contradiction between its exaltation of Mr. Kaepernick’s anti-flag fervor, on the one hand, and its flag-embossed sneaker on the other?
Mr. Kaepernick certainly noticed. The former QB, seeing images of the Stars-and-Stripes-themed shoe on social media, contacted Nike to convey his disapproval. According to a report in The Journal, he told Nike he believes the flag is an offensive symbol of oppression and slavery, dating as it does from the 1770s. Nike folded faster than the New York Giants offensive line.
The company had already shipped the shoes to retailers, but it deferred to Mr. Kaepernick’s historical and semiotic expertise and had them all recalled. Nike offered no explanation. A company spokesperson would only say the shoe was recalled because “it featured the old version of the American flag.”
Nike is entitled to cancel its products for any reason. But the rest of us are entitled to point out that no flag of the United States is a symbol of oppression and racism, and that Mr. Kaepernick’s suggestion that it is one—with Nike’s tacit agreement—is political theater based on false history. We’re also old enough to recall when feminists considered Betsy Ross a hero, not a symbol of repression. But that’s another sign of our current political insanity.
It’s also worth remembering that harebrained controversies like this give many Americans the not unreasonable sense that their country is being maligned by pampered social-justice warriors. Donald Trump has reaped enormous political benefits from the ill-judged fashion among NFL players to kneel during the National Anthem. If the President wins re-election, perhaps he should write a thank-you note to Colin Kaepernick and Nike.

BP AGENTS PHOTOSHOPPED PICTURE OF SMILING PRESIDENT TRUMP FORCING AOC’S HEAD TOWARD HIS CROTCH
Border Patrol Head Condemns Agents' Offensive Facebook Posts, Lawmakers Say Detained Migrants Being Told to 'Drink From the Toilet'

The head of the U.S. Border Patrol slammed as "completely inappropriate" sexually explicit posts about U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and comments questioning the authenticity of a photo of a drowned man and his young daughter in a secret Facebook group for agents.
The existence of the group was reported by ProPublica as roughly a dozen members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, including Democrats Ocasio-Cortez of New York and Veronica Escobar of Texas, toured border facilities where attorneys said they had found migrant children living in fetid, filthy conditions.
Some of the posts were graphic, doctored images of Ocasio-Cortez, including one that shows a smiling President Donald Trump forcing her head toward his crotch. Other comments refer to Ocasio-Cortez and Escobar as "hoes," and one member encouraged agents to throw a "burrito at these bitches."
Ocasio-Cortez said she wasn't surprised by the posts, especially after the treatment of migrants she said she witnessed at the facility.
"It's just indicative of the violent culture that we saw," she said.
The revelation about the Facebook posts only added to the vitriolic atmosphere surrounding immigration and the treatment of tens of thousands of migrants who have crossed the border, vastly straining the system that has been struggling to keep up amid Trump's hardline rhetoric.
The Democrats delivered an emotional denunciation of what they saw inside the border facilities as protesters shouted that they didn't believe them.
"When we went into the cell, it was clear that the water was not running ... in fact, one of the women said that she was told by an agent to drink from the toilet," said Rep. Joaquin Castro, a Democrat from Texas and twin brother of presidential candidate Julian Castro.
The Texas visit came the same day as Trump signed a $4.6 billion emergency aid package that Congress passed on Friday. The Democratic-led House had pushed for more restrictions on how the money could be used and stricter oversight, but ultimately lost the battle.
Trump said he hadn't seen the postings, but claimed Border Patrol agents were not happy with Congress.
"So the Border Patrol, they're patriots, they're great people. They love our country. They know who's coming in," said Trump.
Lawmakers who toured the facilities shared their experiences widely on social media. Rep. Joe Kennedy of Massachusetts called them "jail-like. No way to keep a child or innocent human being." The head of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, California Rep. Judy Chu said "what we saw was appalling and disgusting."
Castro said there would likely be a Congressional investigation into the Facebook posts.
Billed as "fun, serious and just work related," the group of about 9,500 members of current and former Border Patrol employees states: "We are family, first and foremost," according to ProPublica.
Another thread involved the image published last week by The Associated Press of a migrant father and his toddler, drowned on the banks of the Rio Grande. One commenter suggested the image was doctored because the bodies were too clean.
"We've all seen the dems and liberal parties do some pretty sick things," the comment read.
Facebook wouldn't say Tuesday whether the offensive posts had been taken down. But in statement, the social network said it was cooperating with the government in its investigation.
They marked a sharp contrast to accounts of Border Patrol officers spending their own money on food for migrants in their care, or rescuing migrants from the Rio Grande , or from a bombing range in Arizona. U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the parent agency of Border Patrol, said an investigation into "disturbing social media activity" was underway.
"These posts are completely inappropriate and contrary to the honor and integrity I see — and expect — from our agents day in and day out," Border Patrol chief Carla Provost said. "Any employees found to have violated our standards of conduct will be held accountable."
Ocasio-Cortez raised hackles last month when she tweeted: "This administration has established concentration camps on the southern border of the United States for immigrants, where they are being brutalized with dehumanizing conditions and dying."
Her tweet set off a firestorm of criticism from GOP lawmakers and others over her use of "concentration camps," with some saying she was unfairly comparing the southern border to the Holocaust. The Border Patrol's union, while condemning the Facebook posts, also took a swipe at her.
"Whether one agrees with the politics of Rep. Ocasio-Cortez and Rep. Escobar, they both must be treated with dignity and respect," according to a statement from the union. "Similarly, when Rep. Ocasio-Cortez refers to CBP facilities as concentration camps ... she does nothing to improve the political discourse."
EDITOR’S NOTE: By showing her the way they did, the BP agents only increased an already large following of AOC.

WHAT ONE WOULD EXPECT FROM THE BERKELEY OF TEXAS
Mayor and City council vote to turn Austin into a disease ridden shithole
By Trey Rusk

July 2, 2019
Most people have read where Los Angeles is having an infestation of vermin due to the skid row homeless problem. It has become so bad that police officers have been diagnosed with the typhoid fever. Makeshift cardboard and tarp homes litter the sidewalks and rats have been multiplying and entering the businesses. The downtown police department has had to buy a machine to disinfect the building from disease.
Most sane people would read this and say, "We wouldn't let something like that happen to our city."
Instead, the political liberals on the Austin, Texas city council along with Mayor Steve Adler have decided to allow the homeless to camp almost anywhere in the city. One of the few exceptions to the homeless encampments are city hall grounds.
Holy Guacamole! Just not at City Hall.
The Mayor and city council made sure that where they have to walk remains free of feces and disease and the rest of the city can Go to Hell! Austin's Police Chief, Brian Manley seems pretty mellow about it saying, businesses can expect to see a spike in loitering. Assistant Police Chief, Justin Newsom states the ordinance allows homeless people to build shelters on sidewalks as long as people have enough room to squeeze by them and there is no health or safety risk.
Not so fast, Partner!
Not everyone is happy about the new homeless ordinance that went into effect on Monday. Governor Gregg Abbott is threatening to override the ordinance with a new state law. “If Austin— or any other Texas city—permits camping on city streets it will be yet another local ordinance the State of Texas will override,” he tweeted. “At some point cities must start putting public safety & common sense first. There are far better solutions for the homeless & citizens.”
Mayor Adler countered by saying the city remains laser focused on health and safety risks. Then added that not every homeless person poses a safety risk and should not be arrested or treated as if they are dangerous.
So folks, There you have it. Austin, Texas has been Californicated. I'm interested to see if any homeless people wind up on the sidewalk in front of the Mayor Adler's home or at the State Capital.
The people and business owners have to walk down those city streets. This could cost Mayor Adler his job. Would you vote for Mayor Adler if you were having to wipe sidewalk shit off your shoe in Austin?
That's the way I see it.
EDITOR’S NOTE: Austin has long been the Berkeley of Texas. The UT students should not be upset about getting shit on their shoes since they are fed a daily dose of multicultural shit by their Marxist and fellow traveling professors.
Gov. Abbott is whistling Dixie. The legislature won't meet again until 2021 and he's not going to call a special session just so people don't have to wipe shit off of their shoes.
Would I vote for Adler? Of course not, but then I’m not an Austinian.

CA BEING SUED OVER NEW GUN AGE RESTRICTIONS

A complaint has been filed in the U. S. District Court for SoCal alleging that the state's ban on any person under 21 buying any firearm is unconstitutional. (Military personnel, cops (who have to be 20 1/2 anyway) and people with valid hunting licenses are exempt, in theory.
The base complainant is one Matthew Jones, 20, from Santee who does not hunt and has no criminal record but wishes to purchase a gun for "lawful purposes." Various gun rights groups are also plaintiffs.

The Sacramento city government is now REQUIRING that many establishments that serve booze now subscribe to something called PatronScan. This is a privately operated data base. The bar / restaurant owners are REQUIRED BY LAW to scan patron's ID into the machine. It is supposed to be able to spot phone ID. It also stores the data for one month. In the event there is a problem, the cops know who was there. If you are a dick and they have to 86 you, they can put you on a shit list for five years.
I am not saying it is a bad idea to do. I am saying it is a bad idea for the government to force you to do it. The market place should take care of this, not the G.

Kellyanne blasts AOC's 'outrageous claims' following border visit as she denies detainees are 'drinking from toilets' after congresswoman rolls up her car window when reporters ask if she actually SAW it
Daily Mail
July 2, 2019
'Did you see somebody actually do that?' one reporter asked, as Ocasio-Cortez rolled up her car window and disappeared.
A Customs and Burder Protection official denied the congresswoman's claim that migrants drink out of toilets in detention centers. The official said plumbing fixtures at the locations Ocasio-Cortez visited are standard-issue jail appliances with sinks that dispense safe drinking water attached to toilets in a single unit.
The congresswoman had claimed moments before dodging a question about what she had presonally witnessed: 'They were drinking water out of the toilet. And that was them knowing that a congressional visit was coming. That was - this is CBP on their best behavior! Telling people to drink out of the toilet!'
White House counselor Kellyanne Conway.told Fox News that Ocasio-Cortez had made an 'outrageous claim that a woman is drinking from a toilet.' Conway claimed 'everybody who has control over that facility, or control of the border patrol says that is not true, they have not heard of this.'
EDITOR’S NOTE: Another Democrat, Rep. Joaquin Castro, brother of presidential candidate Julian Castro, said “When we went into the cell, it was clear that the water was not running ... in fact, one of the women said that she was told by an agent to drink from the toilet.”

WNBA LESBIAN SUPPORTS HER SOCCER PLAYING LOVER WHO WAS ONE OF THE FIRST TO SUPPORT ASSHOLE COLIN KAEPERNICK
Sue Bird claps back at Trump for attacking her girlfriend Megan Rapinoe
By James O’Connell
New York Daily News
July 2, 2019
“So the President fucking hates my girlfriend.”
That’s quite the headline.
In a post featured in the Players’ Tribune, Sue Bird wrote an article responding to the noise caused by President Donald Trump’s feud with her girlfriend Megan Rapinoe. The New York City high school legend and current WNBA All-Star quickly came to the defense of her partner, and shared her immediate emotions following the feud.
“I’d say I actually had a pretty standard reaction to it: which was to freak out a little. That’s one thing that you kind of have to know about me and Megan: our politics are similar — after we won the WNBA title in Seattle last season, no way were we going to the (fucking) White House! — but our dispositions are not. And as we’ve been talking through a lot of this “stuff,” as it’s been happening to her, you know, I’ll be honest here….. some of it scares the shit out of me!!”
Rapinoe, who has scored the last four goals for the U.S. to lead the team to the World Cup semifinals, has been dominating headlines this tournament both on and off the field.
The feud between the outspoken Rapinoe and President Trump started when a video clip of Rapinoe saying, “I’m not going to the fucking White House," if the team was invited was released last week. The comment was originally made back in January.
Trump responded on Twitter saying that, “We haven’t yet invited Megan or the team, but I am now inviting the TEAM, win or lose. Megan should never disrespect our Country, the White House, or our Flag, especially since so much has been done for her and the team.”
Rapinoe, who was the first athlete wearing a national team jersey to join Colin Kaepernick’s peaceful protest movement by kneeling during the national anthem in 2016, stood by her comments in the days leading up to the U.S.'s quarterfinal clash against host France in Paris, but said she regretted using the F word.
Bird wrote about her fulfilling life with the USWNT star and how proud she was of Rapinoe. However, that didn’t come without throwing digs at the President and his supporters.
“It would be ridiculous to the point of laughter, if it wasn’t so gross. (And if his legislations and policies weren’t ruining the lives of so many innocent people.) And then what’s legitimately scary, I guess, is like….. how it’s not just his tweets.
“Because now suddenly you’ve got all these MAGA peeps getting hostile in your mentions. And you’ve got all these crazy blogs writing terrible things about this person you care so much about. And now they’re doing takedowns of Megan on Fox News, and who knows whatever else.”
This is currently where we stand, the star of the United States’ national team and the leader of the country she’s representing going at it.
What a world.
EDITOR’S NOTE: I wish people like Megan Rapinoe, Sue Bird and Colin Kaepernick who are so unhappy with the way LGBTQs and blacks are treated in this country would just pack up and move to a country where these minorities are welcome and respected by all the people. What? ,,, You say there’s no such place.

THE HERO WHO WAS NOT ACTUALLY THERE
Man claiming to be substitute teacher protecting students during Sant Fe High School shooting never worked for the school district
KTRK
July 1, 2019
SANTA FE, Texas -- A man who told national media outlets that he was a substitute teacher at the time of the Santa Fe High School shooting never worked for the district, Santa Fe ISD told ABC13.
The man, who identified himself as David Briscoe, told outlets including CNN, Time and The Wall Street Journal that he witnessed the shooting on May 18, 2018.
Ten people were killed and 13 were injured when accused shooter Dimitrios Pagourtzis opened fire.
Santa Fe ISD said over the past week it has been asked to verify whether Briscoe ever worked there. It confirmed that there has never been anyone with that name who worked in the district as an employee (part-time or full-time), substitute, vendor, contractor or intern.
Santa Fe ISD also said Briscoe was never in contact with the district in any capacity and released this statement:
"We are extremely disappointed that an individual that has never been a part of our school community would represent themselves as a survivor of the mass violence tragedy that our community endured on May 18, 2018. This situation illustrates how easily misinformation can be created and circulated, especially when the amount of detailed information available is limited due to the still ongoing investigation into the events of May 18, 2018. We appreciate the efforts of those working to correct this misinformation. As a district our focus has always been and continues to be on supporting the needs of our students, staff, and community through the healing and recovery process."
The Texas Tribune reports that Briscoe had told CNN about how he protected his students until police came and recounted in The Wall Street Journal how he'd heard "blood-curdling screams" from students in the hallway.
The Texas Tribune said Briscoe had also told them a similar story back in April of this year, but chose not to publish his account after further investigation of his claims.
CNN, Time and The Wall Street Journal have all since issued updates, removing Briscoe's quotes from their coverage.
Eight students and two substitute teachers died in the shooting.
Pagourtzis' trial is set to begin in Fort Bend County in January 2020. His defense requested a change of venue out of Galveston County, where the shooting occurred, citing hundreds of social media comments on local news articles, giving them a window into how the potential jury pool feels.

Man is completely covered in TAR after falling into Russian pit... before nurses have to scrape the substance from EVERY part of his body with razors
By Roksana Panashchuk
Daily Mail
July 2, 2019
A man who accidentally fell into a huge pool of toxic tar has been rescued by passers-by in western Russia.
The 33-year-old man, who has not been named, was walking past an abandoned asphalt plant when he stumbled and fell into the thick, black liquid.
After failing to break free from the sticky trap, he started calling for help.
Luckily he was heard by some passers-by who raced to the scene and managed to pull him out of the pool of tar.
The Good Samaritans then called an ambulance and the victim was rushed to hospital.
A picture taken by paramedics shows the man covered from the top of his head to toes in tar after being rescued from the pool.
He can be seen lying on the grass as astonished medics reportedly prepare to load him into the ambulance.
Photos taken by medics in the city of Pavlovsk in Voronezh Oblast region show the man after he was admitted to a local hospital.
Medical staff had to use razors to remove the tar from the man's skin and spent several hours cleaning him up.
Doctors say his life is not in danger any more and he is able to walk.
The pool of tar appeared in the city a year ago after the local asphalt plant was shut down.
The tar together with other chemicals were just left near the abandoned plant and formed huge pools.
Local authorities promised to clean the area after the incident.

UPDATE ON ‘JOHN DOE’ TACTIC
‘John Doe DNA’ From 1992 Matched To California Rape Suspect
LAPPL News Watch
July 2, 2019
California prosecutors said Monday that they used an unusual tactic to identify a suspect for three rapes committed more than 25 years ago, keeping the case alive long after the normal legal deadline would have expired.
Investigators tucked away rape kit samples from the attacks between 1992 and 1994 in the Sacramento and Davis areas in hopes that the budding science would one day lead to a match.
Sacramento County prosecutors never identified a suspect at the time but filed an arrest warrant against the anonymous snippet of DNA code in 2000, just two days before the statute of limitations was to run out.
Law enforcement officials said they finally linked the “John Doe DNA” to 59-year-old Mark Manteuffel. The former Federal Bureau of Prisons employee, who once studied and lectured part-time at Sacramento State University, was arrested by FBI agents Friday in Decatur, Georgia, and will be returned to California to stand trial.

A WELL-DESERVED SALUTE TO PRESIDENT TRUMP
Trump’s relationship with Vladimir Putin, Mohammed bin Salman and Kim Jong Un should be commended, not condemned
By Howie Katz
Big Jolly Times
July 1, 2019

The Obama-loving, Trump-hating media could not wait to condemn Trump’s warm greeting of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and his friendly meeting with Vladimir Putin during the G-20 meeting in Osaka, Japan. But the president took an even greater pounding for his meeting with Kim Jong Un in North Korea.
To begin with let’s make it clear that bin Salman, Putin and the pudgy guy with the funny haircut are all tyrants. But is that a reason for Trump to keep them at arm’s length? No, not at all.
Take the case of the Saudi crown prince. He has been accused of ordering the assassination in Turkey of occasional Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi who had lived in the U.S. in self-imposed exile from Saudi Arabia since 2017. Had Khashoggi been beheaded inside Saudi Arabia, it would have made only a blip in the media about the murder of a dissident journalist.
But the assassination took place in Turkey and that’s where Recep Erdogan, Turkey’s Islamist dictator, comes in to play. Erdogan is viewing for dominance of the Middle East with Saudi Arabia and Iran. So, he jumped at the opportunity to all but declare war on the Saudis. And the world-wide media took up his damnation of the Saudi crown prince because Khashoggi was a journalist.
Saudi Arabia is a key ally of the U.S. in the conflict with Iran. The Obama-loving, Trump-hating media would have us cut our ties with the Saudi kingdom because bin Salman ordered the assassination of Khashoggi. To the media, Trump giving bin Salman a warm greeting is akin to giving Adolf Hitler a loving hug.
Saudi Arabia has, to say the least, been an unusual ally. We should not forget or forgive the fact that members of the royal family bankrolled the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center in NY and the attack on the Pentagon. But that was then and this is now. And the Saudis continue to establish and support Wahhabi madrassas in the U.S. which ate breeding grounds for Islamist terrorists.
But Saudi Arabia and the U.S. need each other in the conflict with Iran. That is why Trump was right in embracing bin Salman. And Trump did not bow down to the crown prince like Obama did so shamefully to the Saudi king in 2009.
And how about Putin? There is no doubt that he interfered in the 2016 election in a bid to help Trump win. And the Russians are our adversaries in the Middle East as strong supporters of the Assad regime in Syria and the Mullahs in Iran. Russia is one of the three most powerful nations in the world and is bristling with an array of nuclear weapons which are being continually modernized. Putin has also seized the Crimea and is supporting a rebellion in the Ukraine. Shame, shame on him.
The media and the Democrats want Trump to punch Putin in the eye every chance he gets because Vladimir tried to help defeat their beloved Hillary in 2016. But it is far better for Trump to have a warm relationship with the tyrant of a nuclear armed adversary than to blacken his eye as the media seems to want the president to do. Personal relationships between adversaries do count, and the relationship between Trump and Putin is an important one.
By the way, in our condemnation of Putin for interfering in our election, let’s not forget that Obama interfered in Israel’s election in a bid to oust his personal enemy Benjamin Netanyahu from the Israeli premiership.
That brings us to the pudgy guy with the funny haircut. Kim Jong Un is no joke! Most Western pundits predicted a very short rule for young Kim when he assumed power upon the death of his father in 2011. However, he soon became just as powerful as his grandfather and father before him. On top of that, Kim has acquired a number of nuclear weapons and has the intercontinental missiles to deliver them.
After some saber rattling between Trump and Kim, the two seem to have established a personal friendship with each other. That friendship may or not result in Kim scrapping his nuclear arsenal, but it is far better for the two to be friends than to threaten each other with mutual devastation.
Now Trump has become the first sitting U.S. president to step foot inside North Korea. Before Trump even got back home, the talking heads and their Obama-team foreign policy and intelligence wonks popped up all over the TV news channels condemning the President for giving Kim a tremendous propaganda a victory while getting nothing in return. The print media columnists who hate Trump did the same. There’s no doubt that Kim scored a tremendous propaganda victory when Trump stepped into the North and patted the pudgy guy with the funny haircut on the back. So what!
Obama spent his eight years in office trying to assure the leaders of the Islamic world that the U.S. was their friend and that it was not an adversary of the Palestinians. He had a standoffish relationship with Putin, he bowed down to King Abdullah, and he had absolutely no relationship with Kim Jong Un.
Trump on the other hand knows that it is very important to have a warm relationship with an ally like bin Salman and a friendship with enemies like Putin and Kim who have the ability to do us great harm. For that, Trump deserves the nation’s salute.

COLD CASE PROSECUTION WITH A TWIST
by Bob Walsh
Back in 1992-1994 three very nasty rapes were committed in the greater Sacramento area. At least one of them was no vicious even the broadcast news will not give any details. It is odd (at least to me) in that, a few years back, just before the statute of limitations ran out the District Attorney filed a criminal complaint against the DNA from the samples. The California Supreme Court later upheld this move in an unrelated case.
Yesterday they cops in Decatur, Georgia arrested Mark Manteufell, 59, a former suit with the Federal Bureau of Prisons and a former criminal justice lecturer at Sac State. Assuming the news got it right (not always safe) this was done via an indirect family match thru one of those commercial DNA web sites.
Since it is unlikely that these are the only three crimes committed the cops are contacting other areas in which Manteufell lived for unsolved rape cases. It is common for the feds to transfer their employees as they promote, especially suits.
It is unknown at this time if he is going to fight extradition from Georgia.

IF YOU HAVE TO POINT OUT TO THE AUTHORITIES THAT YOUR BLOUSE IS OK BECAUSE YOU ARE WEARING NIPPLE TAPE, MAYBE YOU NEED TO RETHINK YOUR WARDROBE
by Bob Walsh
Personally I happen to like tits. However, I can understand that, if you are on a commercial airliner, with families, your clothing choices maybe should be different than if you are out clubbing.
Harriet Osborne (who is an attractive young woman) was on an Easy Jet flight from Malaga, Spain to Stansted, London, when the flight crew pointed out an issue with her very sheer black lace top. They offered her an additional cover-up garment, which she allegedly accepted. The stories diverge thereafter.

"One Crazy China" is the state name of Li Lau, a stage magician. He was working a gig on stage at the National Arts Festival in Makhanda, South Africa over the weekend when Murphy reared his head and Lau caught a bolt (arrow) fired from a crossbow in the head.
It was an escape illusion that did not go exactly as planned. Lau is in fact not seriously injured though the show was cancelled and the promoters offered psych counselling to audience members who may have been traumatized.

ARAB PASTOR BAPTIZES NFL STAR IN JORDAN RIVER
Nazareth-based pastor speaks to Israel Today after baptizing Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson
By David Lazarus

Deshaun Watson, starting quarterback for the Houston Texans, gave his life to Jesus in the waters of the Jordan River during his first trip to Israel.
“It is simply overwhelming,” said Watson, who was in Israel with his trainer, Quincy Avery. “To be baptized in the waters of the Jordan River, sail on the Sea of the Galilee, and visit one of the first towns where Jesus preached his Gospel—I am truly in awe of this wonderful land and the wonderful people who live here,” he wrote on Instagram.
One of those “wonderful people” was local Nazareth Pastor Nizar Touma of the Church of the Nazarene, who performed the baptism. “I had no idea who this was,” the Arab pastor told Israel Today. “I didn’t know that this baptism was so important.”
The group that organized the famed quarterback’s trip to Israel contacted Pastor Touma, but neglected to explain to him that he was about to baptize a celebrity. “When I arrived at the Jordan River site, I saw all these cameras and they had a whole program arranged, but I had no idea who this is,” Touma recalled.
It was only on the next day that a friend of the pastor saw his picture on Deshaun’s Instagram page and called him from the US to tell him about the star quarterback. “Do you know anything about American football,” I asked the pastor. “Me? No, nothing. But now I will watch the games and I pray that he will win,” Touma said with a smile.
It is not uncommon for celebs to visit Israel. A group of players with the World Champion New England Patriots football team just happened to be here this week as well on a trip organized by their Jewish owner, Robert Kraft.
Often these trips are organized for promotional value. But getting baptized in the Jordan is a long way to go just for advertisement. “I don’t baptize people unless I know they are sincere in their belief in Jesus,” Pastor Touma assured me. “I spent time with Deshaun and his trainer and explained to them about our faith and why we believe. I asked them if they believe in Jesus and they both said yes, ‘I believe.’ So, I prayed for them, asked for God’s blessing, and anointed them with oil,” Touma said. “I could see that Deshaun prayed sincerely.”
Touma prays that Watson will now be a public witness to people about his faith in Jesus. Surprisingly, his baptism story was already covered in JNS, a Jewish news syndicate. Watson is active on social media and is happy to tell the world about his faith in Jesus. He shared on Instagram that he toasted “L’Chaim” with local Israelis.
God works in mysterious ways. Pastor Touma is a personal friend, and is active in bringing together Arab Christians and Messianic Jews in Israel.

AOC TAKE HEED!
Ivanka’s smarter, classier and way more qualified to run America than AOC – so the ex-bartender who’d bankrupt the country in months should stop bitching
by Piers Morgan

A short 19-second video clip of Ivanka Trump went viral on social media yesterday.
It showed her at the G-20 summit, standing in a group with French President Macron, outgoing British Prime Minister Theresa May, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and head of the International Monetary Fund, Christine Lagarde.
The reason it went viral is that people presumed from the footage – released by Macron’s office – it humiliated Ivanka in some way.
The clip, which is not entirely clear in either sound quality or meaning, begins with Macron making a point about social issues.
‘It’s on..’ says Ivanka.
May then responds to Macron by saying: ‘As soon as you talk about the social aspect of it though, a lot of people start listening who wouldn’t otherwise listen.’
To which Ivanka interjects: ‘It’s the same with the defense side, in terms of the whole ecosystem, it’s been very male-dominated..’
At this point, the others, notably Lagarde, appear to respond to Ivanka’s comments in a manner that many have gleefully suggested shows they were irritated by her involvement in the conversation.
I’ll readily concede it certainly looks awkward.
But then most 19-second clips of conversations like that, taken out of any context, would look awkward.
I suspect if you ask every one of those in the clip if they were actually irritated by Ivanka, they’d all be totally bemused even by the question being asked given how many times they have had similar conversations with her in the past.
For Ivanka’s not just some random person trying to muscle her way into a leader chat.
She’s a formal White House Advisor to President Trump, making her one of the most powerful people in his administration.
And as such, it’s neither unusual nor inappropriate for her to engage in such conversations at events like the G-20 summit, just as she has at many similar events since her father was elected President in 2016.
‘But she wasn’t elected!’ screams Twitter.
So what?
President Obama had four Senior Advisors: David Axelrod, David Plouffe, Valerie Jarrett and Dan Pleiffer.
None of them was an elected official, yet this omission from their resume wasn’t used as a stick to beat them.
As for the charge of nepotism, President John Adams appointed his son to be United States minister to Prussia, Presidents Franklin Roosevelt and Dwight D. Eisenhower both appointed their sons to administrative positions, and President John F. Kennedy made his brother Bobby the attorney general.
The latter was widely attacked for his lack of experience, but went on to be both brilliant at the job and beloved.
So spare me all the n-word bullsh*t about Ivanka.
But, of course, none of this matters to the legion of Trump critics; this was just another chance to toss Ivanka onto the social media bonfire once again, and chuckle demonically as she was metaphorically burned alive.
Leading the demented charge was Democrat Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the young firebrand socialist who seems to lead the demented charge at everyone and everything.
‘It may be shocking to some,’ she tweeted snarkily about the video clip, ‘but being someone’s daughter actually isn’t a career qualification.’
This glib, sneering tone struck me as particularly inappropriate given that Ms Ocasio-Cortez is herself arguably the least ‘qualified’ member of the House of Representatives in US political history.
‘Could be worse,’ I tweeted back, ‘Ivanka could have been a bartender 18 months ago.’
This wasn’t, as some promptly claimed, a dig at bartenders.
I grew up in a pub in Southern England and have worked behind the bar many times myself.
But since Ocasio-Cortez was mocking Ivanka for her lack of experience, I felt it pertinent to point out she herself was still working as a bartender when she won the New York 14th congressional district primary election a year ago.
Of course, Ocasio-Cortez reacted to my jibe by doubling down – just as she did last week when she so shamefully compared Trump’s immigration policy on the southern border to the Holocaust.
‘Actually,’ she retorted back to me, ‘that would make government better – not worse. Imagine if more people in power spent years of their lives actually working for a living?’
Wow. So now she was saying Ivanka isn’t just unqualified to be a White House Advisor, she’s never worked for a living either.
In fact, Ivanka’s worked very hard all her life.
Yes, she was born into vast wealth and privilege.
But that was not her choice, and I don’t see why she should now be castigated for it.
Ivanka enjoyed a successful modelling career before joining her father’s business - working for Versace, Thierry Mugler and Tommy Hiflger, and appearing on myriad magazine covers.
She could have carried on doing that, or chosen to do nothing at all. She had no financial need work at all.
But instead, she devoted herself to becoming a top businesswoman.
After graduating cum laude from the Wharton School of Economics, Ivanka briefly worked as a real estate project manager for Forest City Enterprises before joining the Trump family business in 2005.
In 2007, she launched Trump Fine Jewelry and the brand sold throughout the US and Canada, as well as the Middle East.
She then launched her own expansive fashion line that sold in major US department stores.
She was also, until she accepted the job at the White House, the Executive Vice President of Development and Acquisitions at The Trump Organisation, and served on the board of 100 Women in Hedge Funds, an industry organisation that provides support to women professionals in finance.
And when she wasn’t doing all this, she appeared as one of her father’s regular boardroom advisors on hit TV shows The Apprentice and then Celebrity Apprentice.
It was while filming the first season of the latter that I first met Ivanka and I have spent a lot of time with her over the years.
She is one of the most impressive people I know: whip smart, charming, warm, generous and gracious.
She’s also a proven skilled negotiator and when she needs to be in business, as steely and hard-nosed as they come.
Like her father, she has a very thick skin that enables her to soak up all the relentless and often disgusting abuse and mockery. It’s been a brutal experience that would have destroyed most young women if it happened to them.
Yet throughout it all, Ivanka’s calmly and diligently gone about her job, giving service to her country for zero compensation (she’s an unpaid advisor).
And unlike her father, she doesn’t engage in unedifying public spats or indeed seemingly engage in any kind unedifying behavior.
In short, Ivanka’s the kind of person who any major company in America would love to have on its top executive team.
And I’m glad she’s in the White House, because from my personal experience, there are few people for whom Donald Trump has more respect, or from whom he is prepared to take forthright advice.
As for ‘Angel’ Alexandria, I bow to nobody in my admiration for the way she pulled off one of the US political sensations of this Millennium.
But when she tries to take the high moral ground with Ivanka, I cry ‘Whoa there, my little firebrand…’
For example, Ocasio-Cortez constantly boasts about being a working class ‘girl from the Bronx’ – one of New York’s roughest, toughest neighborhoods.
Yet what this blue-collar champion of the people isn’t so keen to boast about is that when she was just five, her architect father Sergio moved the family from the Bronx to a nice home in Yorktown Heights, in Westchester County – one of New York’s wealthiest suburbs.
He did this so his children could go to better schools than they would in the Bronx.
In other words, like Donald Trump only on a far smaller scale, he used his comparative wealth to give his kids an advantage in life.
Ocasio-Cortez also portrays herself a feminist icon, making endless pronouncements about the need to respect women.
‘The reason women are critiqued for being too loud, or too meek, too big or too small, too smart to be attractive or too attractive to be smart,’ she declared recently, ‘is to belittle women out of standing up publicly. The goal is to ‘critique’ into submission.’
Fine words.
But how do they now sit with Ocasio-Cortez launching a vicious and deliberately belittling ‘critique’ on Ivanka Trump, mocking her for never having properly worked, and for only getting a job because of her Daddy?
It’s hard to imagine a more degrading insult for a woman who has in fact worked hard all her life, both during her education and during her adult career. Or a more hypocritical one, coming from someone with miniscule political experience whose own father gave HER a head start too.
There’s also the small matter of Ocasio-Cortez’s political opinions, with many experts saying her policies on issues like healthcare, tuition fees and climate change would swiftly bankrupt America.
Ivanka, as she invariably does, maintained a dignified silence over Ocasio-Cortez’s nasty attacks.
But she did tweet this: ‘The United States is the only country in the G20 with an entirely female negotiating team representing President Trump and advancing his policies.’
That is an extraordinary fact, and one you might assume a radical feminist like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez would applaud?
But no, she was so wrapped up in her poisonous mockery of Ivanka’s fitness to serve her country that she never stopped to consider the incredibly powerful statement the US negotiating team is making.
The irony of all this is that the 2024 US election could possibly be fought between Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ivanka Trump.
And if it is, I can confidently predict that not only would Ivanka win, she’d make a damn sight better president than a hypocritical former bartender with a constantly bitching jealousy chip on both shoulders.

Supreme Court Affirms Police Can Order Blood Drawn From Unconscious DUI Suspects
LAPPL News Watch
July 1, 2019
The Supreme Court has ruled that police may, without a warrant, order blood drawn from an unconscious person suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol.
The Fourth Amendment generally requires police to obtain a warrant for a blood draw. But in a 5-4 vote on Thursday, the court upheld a Wisconsin law that says people driving on a public road have impliedly consented to having their blood drawn if police suspect them of driving under the influence. It also said that "exigent circumstances" permit police to obtain a blood sample without a warrant.
Justices Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Stephen Breyer and Brett Kavanaugh joined Chief Justice John Roberts in the majority vote.

The vehicle in a Valley Village hit-and-run crash that killed a beloved Holocaust survivor has been found, police said Thursday. Los Angeles police confirmed that the vehicle is in their custody, but the suspect who was behind the wheel is not.
On June 17, 91-year-old Gennady Bolotsky was fatally struck while walking in a crosswalk at Magnolia Boulevard and Wilkinson Avenue. He was walking his beloved dog Leelah, who was his companion after his wife of more than 50 years passed away.
Family members said the vehicle in the hit-and-run is a GMC Sierra. Surveillance video shows the Sierra hitting the elderly man and then running over his body.
Family members have been searching for video evidence and witnesses to help them find the suspect. "The witness who saw the accident has not come forward yet," said granddaughter Adriana Bolotsky. "Judgment aside, we just need you to come forward and ID this person so we can make our world a little bit safer."

Following rat infestation, LAPD deploys robot to sanitize Central Division station

On Friday, Police Chief Michel Moore unveiled a robot that uses high-intensity light to kill germs in rooms and another device that uses ultraviolet rays to kill germs on shoes.
The LAPD is the first police department to use the robot, Moore said. The deployment of the robot called LightStrike and the shoe sanitizer called HealthySole comes after officers fell ill last month and state officials levied multiple fines for rodent infestations and other unsanitary conditions at the Central Division station.
Officers there are responsible for skid row and other parts of downtown L.A. Moore praised the union for purchasing and bringing the $5,000 footwear sanitizer device to the department’s attention.
Mayor Eric Garcetti also ordered the city to purchase a second device, Moore said. Jerretta Sandoz, the union’s vice president, said the safety and health of officers and employees is a concern. She said Moore and other leaders took the concerns seriously and looked for solutions.

THE WHOLE DISGUSTING LOT SOUNDED LIKE THEY WERE RUNNING FOR THE PRESIDENCY OF GUATEMALA
An Angry, Old White Guy Watches the Democratic Debate
By Abraham H. Miller

I don’t give a damn where you were 60 years ago on civil rights. I don’t care if your great grand-pappy owned slaves or you grew up in rural Louisiana and used the “N” word as often as a contemporary rapper. I can’t get vexed about 2000 children at the border not getting enough facial tissue and diapers when tens of thousands of American children are sleeping on the streets and in shelters of our cities.
What I want is a president who is going to work for America, whose reputation is grounded by the present, and whose concerns are sharply focused on the future, America’s future.
The sine qua non of great candidates is not where they stood on racism in 1963 but where they stand on America today!
As of April 2019, there were 22,000 children sleeping in NYC’s municipal shelters. On any given night, half a million Americans are homeless. Some 40% of them are minors.
So, while you are raising your hands to give health care to illegal aliens and feeling virtuous in the process, what the hell are you doing about the problems impoverished Americans face?
Biden took it on the chin for not supporting government-enforced busing to deal with de facto segregation. What parents, white or black, want their children to sit on a bus and be transported to an inferior school. Court-ordered busing was one of the strongest reasons for white flight out of America’s cities.
You’re the senator from California, Kamala, not from Central America. In your own back yard, in Berkeley, Oakland, and San Francisco, homelessness is a crisis and third-world tent cities are reproducing themselves along California’s freeways.
In San Francisco, people spend 41% of their income on rent. San Francisco is a city of renters not owners, and some 70% of the homeless once had a roof over their head and lived here. The median price per square foot in San Francisco is over a $1000.00. Realtors call it expensive. The rest of us call it obscene.
Why is it expensive to live here? Because if a developer finds an endangered species of field mouse on his property, all construction must stop. Democrats have created regulations that have regulations.
The Larkin Street facility in San Francisco deals with the needs of homeless young people. In the Pantheon of homelessness, young people come from the most abused conditions and are the most likely to be without any shelter.
While you and the administration are rushing 4 billion dollars to the border, did you ever stop to consider what a few hundred million would do for your own constituents accessing the vital, and in some cases life-changing services, at places like Larkin Street?
The Democrats seemed to be climbing over each other as to who was going to give away the most stuff. Well, at least Bill de Blasio was honest enough to say he was going to pay for it by raising the tax rate to 70%. But not to worry because you guys are only going to tax the rich, right?
If you taxed all the income over 1 million dollars at 100%, you couldn’t get rid of the deficit let alone begin to pay for all the free stuff you say you want to give away. You just know that half the population does not pay federal income tax, so you pander to them. The rest of us will have to pony up for your programs.
But one program I am willing to be taxed for is male abortions. I think no amount of money is too much to transform gender rights into gender justice!
When you don’t sound like you are running for the presidency of the Castro District, you all sound like you’re running for the presidency of Guatemala. You hate this country so much you can’t even wear a traditional American flag pin.
Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, Alexandria Octavio-Cortez are said to be the new face of your party. Omar’s district is the prime source for ISIS recruits. As a Minnesota legislator, she voted against American insurance companies and for death benefits for ISIS terrorists’ families. Rashida Tlaib says she never feels more Palestinian than when she is in Congress. Alexandria Octavio-Cortez goes to the border fence and sheds crocodile tears over an empty parking lot while pretending to look at caged illegals.
I don’t care what color or what ethnicities people are, but I expect that anyone who goes to Congress should represent America, not ISIS, Palestine, or Central America.
What I care about is what you are going to do for America, today and tomorrow? And let me echo what some Americans said about the Indian invasion of Bangladesh (East Pakistan) back in 1971. The Nixon administration thought about engaging in, yet, another stupid Asian war and some Americans voiced, what many felt – just because you were born in some sh**hole doesn’t make it our responsibility to expend blood and treasure to save you.
And, maybe, Kamala, if you want to thank anyone for the integration of Berkeley, you should remember that before there was a Free Speech Movement on campus; there was a civil rights movement. And it was white people of my generation that took to the streets and the businesses of Berkeley, so you could go to an integrated school and stand behind a cash register — something black people were kept from doing in 1963.
But no one dreamed back then that equality of opportunity would be designated as a racist policy, and equality of result would be the new goal. No one went to Mississippi Freedom Summer thinking they were getting their head bashed for racial preference.
As Joseph Nye Welch said to Joseph McCarthy, “…have you no sense of decency?” The whole disgusting lot of you!

ONCE UPON A TIME THERE WAS THE PRESTON SCHOOL OF INDUSTRY
by Bob Walsh
Once upon a time, a long long time ago, the juvenile justice system in the formerly great state of California was the model for the world. Literally. Criminal justice types would come to California from EVERYWHERE to see how the California Youth Authority did it, because it worked.
One of the first visible efforts in that direction was what is now called the Preston Castle. In 1889 the Preston School of Industry was established by an act of the legislature. It took young boys out of Folsom and San Quentin and put them into an environment where they could learn an honest trade. The castle is no longer used, but is no longer abandoned either. The Preston Castle Foundation now owns it and is in the process of repairing and restoring it. It is supposedly the finest example of neo-Gothic architecture west of the Mississippi and is well worth saving. Every so often they open it for photo tours. It is adjacent to the CalFire training camp and Mule Creek State Prison.
Unfortunately the "new and improved" Division of Juvenile Justice has a different primary goal. They try as hard as possible to ensure that anybody under 19 is never incarcerated for ANYTHING no matter how heinous the act and how egregious a repeat offender they are. The new idea of rehabilitation is to assert repeatedly that the youngster is a victim of an unfair society, bad parenting, indifferent toilet training and various evils perpetrated by Donald Trump. Personal responsibility has nothing to do with the equation. Doesn't enter into it at all.
So, if you are a "school kid" who doesn't want to do anything but get drunk, get stoned, get laid and tell your teachers, your parents, and anybody else older than you to go fuck themselves, the formerly great state of California is the place to be. You will be welcomed, protected and nurtured here. You are, after all, archetypical proto-Democrats.

LET JOE BE JOE AND THE GOOD SHIP BIDEN MAY RUN AGROUND
Joe Biden can't catch a break as he tells Seattle supporters that it would have been acceptable five years ago for a businessman to make 'fun of a gay waiter'
Daily Mail
June 30, 2019
Joe Biden told supporters on Saturday that in 2014 it would have been acceptable for a businessman to make fun of gay people in the service industry.
Although the former vice president was attempting to illustrate how far the country has come in terms of gay rights, he just dug himself deeper as he continued to plague his own campaign with gaffes.
While speaking to about 50 supporters during a fundraising event in Seattle, Washington, which took place the second to last day of Pride Month, Biden said that five years ago it was accepted for businessmen to make 'fun of a gay waiter.
Meanwhile, Cory Booker slams Joe Biden's race gaffes and says the former vice president isn't 'up to the task' to be able to address race issues in America as he defends Kamala Harris.
And Kamala Harris raised $2 million off the first Democratic primary debates in the 24 hours after sharing her personal story about bussing when ripping into Biden on defending segregationist lawmakers
EDITOR’S NOTE: Today, even though many of us who are NOT homophobic, we cannot help but make fun of SOME gay waiters, just as we would make fun of some straight waiters. Isn’t that what inclusiveness is all about?

THE INSTITUTE FOR THE STUDY OF WAR CLAIMS ISIS IS FAR FROM DEFEATED
ISIS is poised for a 'devastating' comeback with the help of secret billions and sleeper cells, new report warns
By George Martin
Daily Mail
June 30, 2019
ISIS could be set for a 'devastating' comeback despite its defeat earlier this year - a bombshell study has revealed.
US-based think tank the Institute for the Study of War published a report suggesting the caliphate is alive and well and is set to re-emerge imminently with deadly consequences.
According to the report, ISIS still maintains several sleeper cells and has accrued billions of pounds worth of funding which has allowed it to remain a threat.
'The slow-motion reduction of ISIS territory and strength initiated by President Obama and continued by President Trump gave the group plenty of time to plan and prepare for the next phase of the war,' the report states.
'Its forces are now dispersed across both countries and are waging a capable insurgency.
'Its successful reconstitution of a physical caliphate in Iraq and Syria would produce new waves of attacks in Europe and dangerously legitimise ISIS's narrative of inevitable long-term victory.'
The jihadi group was officially wiped out in Syria earlier this year, but its leaders and soldiers are now spread across the Middle East.
According to the report, ISIS has a 'global finance network that funded its transition back to an insurgency' and it still retains potent weapons.
Leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, long thought to have been killed in a US drone strike, has reportedly been reforming the group for a new wave of violence.
The study states that ISIS now controls vast amounts of rural land in Iraq and has replaced local leaders with its own representatives who are collecting tax to fund its war.
The report continues: 'ISIS has systematically eliminated village leaders and civilians who cooperated with anti-IS forces.
'It has reimposed taxes on local populations in its historical support zones, displacing civilians and de facto controlling small pockets of terrain in Iraq.'
It also suggests President Donald Trump was wrong to announce the territorial defeat of ISIS.
It calls on the US to take 'immediate steps' to quell the death cult's resurgence in both Iraq and Syria.

DID NJ WOMAN KILL HER IDENTICAL TWIN OVER A MAN?
Family of alleged killer twin thinks cops made up ‘love triangle’
By Sara Dorn
New York Post
June 29, 2019
The New Jersey woman accused of stabbing her identical twin over a boyfriend “doesn’t remember” the fatal fight — but according to a distraught sibling, the sisters would never have let romance tear them apart.
Authorities believe a love triangle may have caused the deadly spat between Amanda Ramirez, 27 — who allegedly confessed to the crime — and her doomed sister Anna.
But a third sister insisted Saturday that the pair “would never fight over a man.’’
“They would argue like cats and dogs, but stuck together like thieves,” Monika Medina, 19, told The Post.
“Amanda and Anna’s bond was one of the tightest. Inseparable!”
The twins were involved in separate long-term relationships, according to Medina.
“Amanda has her own significant other. Anna had her own significant other,” Medina said.
Anna lived with her boyfriend of 2½ years, Luis Rivera. Amanda had been in a relationship for a “couple years,” Medina said, adding she believes cops fabricated the “love triangle’’ claims.
“Detectives thought this is the next big thing, ‘Sister kills twin over man,’ ” Medina added.
“We don’t believe this was a jealous act nor [done] purposely. We believe she didn’t do such a thing,” said Medina, who maintains Amanda is “still in shock.”
Amanda changed her story three times, cops said, before allegedly confessing she killed Anna as the pair wrestled over a kitchen knife during a fight outside their Centennial Village apartments in Camden.
“Detectives were all inside of her head,” said Medina, who believes Amanda’s confession was coerced. “She gave three different stories, but the last one didn’t feel correct nor did it sit right in any of our hearts.
“She kept crying but said she didn’t remember. All she remembered was seeing Anna on the ground,” Medina said of a recent jailhouse phone call with Amanda, saying her sister could have been tight-lipped out of fear the call was being monitored.
Amanda, who is facing a charge of aggravated manslaughter for the June 22 killing, is “lost, alone, hurt and most of all devastated,” according to Medina.
“She is strong as can be,” Medina added. “I know mentally she is lost and confused. Her other half is gone and no longer with us.”
“Multiple neighbors” told the family they heard the twins arguing with a group of men and women in the early morning hours before the slaying, Medina said.
Neighbors claimed the twins were begging the group to leave, according to Medina, who believes the argument may have been connected to Anna’s killing.
“I feel so lost. I know deep down my sister didn’t do this,” Medina added.
Amanda’s boyfriend, like the rest of her family, is standing by her, according to Medina. She would not disclose his name.
“We all forgive Amanda, and she knows we are here to support, comfort and love her,” Medina said. “I lost two sisters. I want her home.”
Even Anna’s three young daughters — one of whom publicly forgave Amanda as she eulogized her mother — sympathize with their aunt, the sister shared.
“They still hold their beautiful heads up strong. They still love Amanda,” Medina said. “We as a family stick together forever.”
The grief-stricken sister said she is “lost” over the death of Anna, whom she called her “best friend.”
“It hurts more than anyone would know,” she said. “We are all heartbroken.”
Medina said she found out about the 5:30 a.m. stabbing on social media but didn’t learn that it was Anna who had been killed until 11 a.m., four hours after the woman was pronounced dead at Cooper University Hospital.
“We went to hospital after hospital trying to find Anna,” Medina said. “Then they tell us they are holding Amanda. Then tell us she is being charged.”
Soon after Amanda was arrested, Medina visited her in custody, she recalled.
“She couldn’t . . . speak, nor walk,” Medina said. “This didn’t feel real. Especially when the accusations came out that Amanda did it.”

OPERATION ‘BROKEN HEART’
51 arrests made in Houston area child sex crime sting
ABC News
June 29, 2019
HOUSTON, Texas - 51 arrests have been made in a sting operation covering three Texas counties in relation to online child sex crime.
Officers from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force posed as underage children online for the sting, dubbed Operation “Broken Heart,” which took place over several months in Montgomery, Fort Bend and Harris counties, according to ABC 13 in Houston. Among those arrested were public employees.
The authorities briefed reporters on the sting operation, and revealed details about some of the individual cases.
"A suspect traveled all the way from California here to Houston, where he met his victim and sexually assaulted her," Sgt. Luis Menedez-Sierra told reporters, describing one of the alleged crimes. “This is not a local crime, this is not something just related to your next door neighbor, or one town away. This is a nationwide issue.”
Officers said that the majority of the arrests involved adults grooming children online, or undercover officers posing as children.
Describing the case of Christopher Lakner, 26, Harris County Precinct 1 Constable Alan Rosen said that "during chats, he tried to convince undercover personnel he thought was a teenage girl to help kidnap children from area parks, breed them to make babies."
Lackner was arrested at the location where he is alleged to have arranged a meeting with the undercover officer. He was arrested in April and is still in custody.
Brian Roberts, Lackner's attorney, told ABC News that he had still not received evidence from the state.
"But more importantly the comments that Constable Rosen made exceeded widely what is appropriate for a law enforcement officer to say publicly," Roberts said. "The statement that he made is not public information, and so he has a duty not to disclose it. More importantly those statements are a violation of my client’s constitutional and civil rights. They may deprive him of his right to a fair trial."
"The Harris County District Attorney’s Office has done nothing to curb the rash of incendiary public statements by local law enforcement officials, which violate the rights of defendants whose cases are still pending trial," the defense attorney continued. "This is an example of a public official furthering his political ambitions on the back of my client and it cannot continue unaddressed and without potential legal sanctions."
Operation “Broken Heart” is the code name for a nationwide operation to tackle child sex abuse. The operation targets suspects who deal in child pornography, groom children online, engage in sex trafficking or travel to foreign countries to abuse children, according to the Department of Justice.
The sting is the latest series of arrests meted out by ICAC task forces during Operation “Broken Heart.” Last year, the Department of Justice announced that more than 2,300 arrests had been made nationwide between the months of March and May 2018 as part of the operation.

59 KIDNAPPINGS IN MEXICO CITY DURING THE FIRST FIVE MONTHS OF 2019
Rise in Targeted Kidnappings Cause for Concern in Mexico City

The kidnapping and murder of a university student has sparked broad concern about a rise in targeted kidnappings in Mexico City, and in particular the possible role of criminal group Las Pelonas in these crimes.
The lifeless body of Norberto Ronquillo, a marketing student at the Universidad del Pedregal, in Tlalpan, south of Mexico City, was found on June 9, a few kilometers from his university, according to the Attorney General’s Office.
Ronquillo had been kidnapped on June 4. The kidnappers demanded about $260,000 to free him, which his parents paid. But Ronquillo was never released and it is believed that he was murdered a few hours after his abduction.
Initial investigations have pointed to the participation of the criminal gang Las Pelonas in the kidnapping and murder.
Las Pelonas has a history of targeting students in Mexico City’s neighborhoods of Xochimilco, Tlalpan and Coyoacán, the same area where Ronquillo was kidnapped, according to La Silla Rota. Similar ransom demands were also made.
Authorities have had Las Pelonas on their radar since 2007, when they kidnapped Priscila Lora, an 18-year-old girl who was held captive for more than two years and then murdered.
Between 2015 and 2018, five more kidnappings were attributed to the group, with three of the victims being killed and two more returned alive.
The only member Las Pelonas identified by authorities so far has been its leader, known as ”Las Barbas,” according to El Universal.
Authorities believe the gang owns a number of businesses in Mexico City’s neighborhood of Milpa Alta, including restaurants and a club. This allows them to “recruit” young people who are tasked with finding potential targets from among private school students.
Isabel Miranda de Wallace, president of the organization Alto al Secuestro, said the group is very sophisticated and has decades of experience.
“It is a very well structured criminal organization with 30 years of experience. It was believed to have been dismantled but they have regrouped,” she told El Universal.
InSight Crime Analysis
In recent years, large criminal groups in Mexico have fragmented into smaller, more volatile groups with specific criminal portfolios. Las Pelonas, despite its lengthy history, appears to have settled into such a niche in recent years, focusing on kidnapping and murdering wealthy students.
Targeted kidnappings and larger ransoms have become more frequent in the Mexican capital, as reflected in the sharp increase in these crimes in 2017 and 2018.
During the first five months of this year, there were 59 kidnappings in Mexico City, double the amount during over the same period in 2018, according to Alto al Secuestro figures.
Ronquillo’s abduction and murder, however, has grabbed national attention, highlighting the continued failure by authorities to investigate and stop kidnappings effectively.
His killing also shows how small groups like Las Pelonas are willing to employ violence indiscriminately in Mexico City, threatening to destroy the capital’s reputation as a safe zone inside the country.
