GALLUP POLL FLUNKS UNDECIDED VOTER TEST

Most questions by ‘undecided voters’ during the second presidential debate clearly indicated they were from Obama supporters; moderator Candy Crowley submarined Romney throughout the debate

The audience at the Town Hall debate was supposed to consist of undecided voters as picked out by the Gallup Poll. But most of the questions asked of the candidates were clearly veiled criticisms of Mitt Romney’s positions that were posed by obvious Obama supporters. Four of the questions were asked by Jews - Jeremy Epstein, Susan Katz, Carol Goldberg, Barry Green – who, from the way they phrased their questions, made it quite clear they were Obama supporters. They merely reflected the sad fact that almost 80 percent of America’s Jewish voters are hard-core Democrats. For this debate, the Gallup Poll flunked the undecided voter test big time.

Just look at the question Susan Katz asked: “Governor Romney, I am an undecided voter because I'm disappointed with the lack of progress I've seen in the last four years. However, I do attribute much of America's economic and international problems to the failings and missteps of the Bush administration. Since both you and President Bush are Republicans, I fear a return to the policies of those years should you win this election. What is the biggest difference between you and George W. Bush, and how do you differentiate yourself from George W. Bush?” If that’s the question of an undecided voter, I’ll eat my John Deere cap.

To make matters worse, moderator Candy Crowley clearly showed her bias against Romney. She consistently allowed Obama to get in the last word on questions, thereby giving the president more time than Romney. At one point, Crowley told Romney to sit down – “If I could have you sit down, Governor Romney. Thank you.” - when he tried to point out that Obama, like himself, had investments in Chinese companies. Whenever Romney tried to rebut the president, she cut him off, telling him he would get the chance to do so later, which of course he never did. I can only describe Crowley’s conduct as disgusting!

Who was the winner of the debate? Overall, I thought Obama got the best of it, but not by all that much. If it hadn’t been for Crowley, Romney might well have had a slight edge.
