Y’ALL COME ON DOWN TO TEXAS (UPDATE)

Rick Perry invites businesses in the former Golden State, now Rusty Iron State, to pack up and come on down to set up shop in the Lone Star State

While Texas is not all that kind to us common folks, the Lone Star State has always had a great pro-business climate.

RICK PERRY STEPS UP HIS WAR WITH CALIFORNIA (NOW THAT THE GUV IS JERRY BROWN, NOT ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER)

Apparently happy with the headlines he got for a $24,000 radio-ad buy urging California businesses to come to Texas, Texas Governor Rick Perry is stepping up his game.

He tweeted “Getting great response to our California radio ad! Headed back out west next week to meet with CEO’s,” warning Californians (and tipping off reporters) that there's more merriment in store.

We couldn't help but notice that Perry has taken on California at a time when its governor is no longer the terminatin' Arnold Schwarzenegger but the bookish Zen master Jerry Brown.

But Perry should watch out -- Brown seems eager to engage.

When reporters asked him about the radio buys, he scoffed at both Perry's plan and the journalists asking him about it.

"It's not a serious story, guys," Brown said. "It's not a burp. It's barely a fart. If they want to get in the game, let them spend $25 million on radio and television. Then I'll take them seriously."

Rick Perry -- Barely a Fart. The 2015-16 campaign slogan is settled!

The ad buy and Perry's trip are being paid for by Texas One, a coalition of big Texas businesses.

The trip begins next week. We wait eagerly to see if Perry can attain fart status.
