Jeronimo Yanez is/was a police officer with the St. Anthony, Minn. P. D. On July 10 he was found NOT GUILTY in a manslaughter beef in the shooting death of Philando Castile. The city immediately made It known that they intended to get rid of Officer Yanez and offered him a "voluntary" buyout package.
The deal gives Yanez $48,500 and pays him for 600 hours of comp time. It ends all employment rights, including appeal rights. Yanez also agreed not to sue the city. His basic salary was $72,000 per year, not including overtime. Yanez is free to seek peace officer employment elsewhere and is not disqualified from doing so.
EDITOR'S NOTE: $48,500 won't begin to pay for his legal fees.

Most officer's attorneys are paid through association dues.
That's right Anon when a righteous officer is facing disciplinary proceedings or criminal charges, but not when the officer sues for damages in a civil lawsuit.
