An as-yet unnamed Philadelphia police office was shot
breaking up a fight outside of Overbrook High School Wednesday about
2:45 p.m. A passerby saw the disturbance and recorded much of it. The
officer was hit in the gut and is in critical condition.
The school maintains the fight was not started by it's students and that no student was shooting at anybody.
One person has been detained for involvement in the incident.

The reason you don't find the metal breast plates on many vests any longer was because bullets ricocheted usually from the plate upwards to an officers head.
