FEMALE COPS CAN BE JUST AS MESSED UP AS MALE COPS

By Bob Walsh

Rebecca A. Sayegh, 32, was released pending trial only to permit her to attend a mental health program designed specifically for law enforcement officers, the judge said.

Officer Revecca Sayegh, 32, of the Toms River (NJ) Police Department, is in deep kimchi.  The nine-year veteran of the department is alleged to have broken into the house of her ex-boyfriend and assaulted two people.  She is facing charges of home invasion, making terroristic threats, resisting arrest and various charges of criminal mischief and assault.

The local constabulary responded to a domestic disturbance call in Berkeley Township just about midnight last Friday.  They found Sayegh at the scene, along with her ex and another woman.  She also allegedly threatened to set fire to the house and vandalized a car present at the house.  Sayegh was not arrested at the time, but subsequently was arrested.  She is in custody at the Ocean County Jail pending her bail hearing, which will be Friday.

She has a discrimination and harassment lawsuit pending against the Toms River PD pending from October of last year.
