A lot of state civil service workers are already unhappy
with the God-Emperor of the formerly great state of California, Gavin
"God I Want To Be President" Newsom. They are pissed because they
thought that the "remote work" arrangement would continue until mammals
become extinct. They thought wrong. A lot of them are now pissed
because he seems to want to balance the budget on their backs.
Gavin
has admitted that the budget of out of balance by $12 billion. That
means it is really out of budget by at least $30 billion and possibly
$40 or $50 billion. Or more. Part of his May budget revise proposes
"suspending" (cancelling ?) state employee pay raises. The governor has
made it plain that if the unions to not get on board he will shove it
down their throats.
This
could get really interesting. Under normal circumstances the state
employee unions and the Democrat-Socialist super-majority party work
hand-in-glove. That state hands out nice raises and the employee unions
kick down to individual politicians. Kind of like a protection
racket. It remains to see how this will shake out, but we should have a
pretty good idea in 30 days. That is the statutory budget submission
date.
