MY THOUGHTS ABOUT THE RIOTS IN L.A.

Gov. Gavin Newsom and L.A. Mayor Karen Bass

 

I believe that was is going on right now in LA and, to a lesser degree, other major cities, is socially and politically significant.

I believe that what is happening is that Gavin Newsom, who is a hard-core leftie and who wants DESPERATELY to be the next president of the United States, and Karen Bass, who is an honest-to-god Commie, are deliberately trying to tie up Donald Trump and enforcement of his immigration policy as much as they possibly can without appearing to do so, at least officially.  It is kind of like the pro-Hamas terrorists who present themselves as being Pro-Gaza rather than what they really are, hard-core Jew haters.

They want LA to continue to be an active Sanctuary City.  They want LA County to be an active Sanctuary County.  They want California to be an active Sanctuary state.  And they don't want Donald Trump to be able to effectively interfere with that.

They have a lot of support.  Some of that support is from well-meaning idiots who view themselves as being pro-immigrant and are not too fussy about the legality of those immigrants.  Some of them are honest and well-meaning open-borders types.  Some of them are trans-national criminals who like chaos and open borders because they are good for business.  Some of them are politically interested in flooding the country with "immigrants" of whatever description who can then be regularized at an accelerated basis and who will then demographically overwhelm the native born citizens.  (This is part of the reason that the anti-Trump people find his birth-right citizenship position so hateful.  It pees in their corn flakes.

Some of these "protests" (riots) are spontaneous and home grown and legit well-meaning fools.  Some are merely bored young men who want to raise hell and destroy property and steal shit just because.  And some of them are committed leftists and nihlists of one sort or another who are deliberately attempting to break the system.  They are to some extent directed and funded by people who want to do us harm.  Some of them are just people who, for whatever reason, want to show that they are "down for the cause."  Those are the morally superior virtue signaling types.

Trump is not going to back down.  They know that.  Trump doesn't have to run for election for anything ever again.  These various forces believe that if they can tie him up and make him look "mean" they will have a greater chance of upsetting the apple cart in the mid-term elections in 17 months, and thereby make any further advance of the Trump agenda difficult to impossible.

Plus, while all the bullshit is going on, Karen Bass will probably not be successfully recalled and Gavin Newsom will almost certainly not be successfully recalled.  

This isn't the civil rights movement.  It is more like the BLM movement, which was eventually shown to be a personal enrichment scam.  In this case the "personal enrichment" is the accrual of political power, away from Donald Trump and towards the open borders crowd.  

Local law enforcement is now getting their shit together in LA.  The feds are more effectively getting their operation running and are arresting assholes on federal charges.  How many of those charges will be able to made to stick is another matter.  

It feels kind of like the 60s again.  I am not sure I like it, but it sure is interesting to watch.
