The dramatis personae in this little play are J. K.
Rowling, the author of the phenomenally successful Harry Potter books
and Emma Watson, aka Hermione Granger. Watson has recently blasted
Rowling more than once on X over what Watson asserts are anti-trans
attitudes by Rowling.
Rowling
has pointed out that Ms. Watson was a multi-millionaire at age 14 due
to the character she has played in movies based on Rowling's books. Ms.
Rowling was living on welfare (the dole) when she started writing Harry
Potter. Rowling is a very rich woman, a multi-billionaire, and earned
every nickle herself as opposed to inheriting it. Rowling has pointed
out that Granger is very unlikely to ever have to worry about her
personal space being invaded by a man pretending to be a woman in a
public toilet or locker room due to the fact that she travels with her
own security, a luxury most real people don't have.
Ms. Watson is trying to back off and mend fences, sort of. It isn't clear how successful she will be.
