On Friday the governor of the formerly great state of
California, Gavin Newsom, signed AB1127 into law. This bill, assuming
it is not overturned by court action, will ban the sale of new Glock
pistols in California on 07-01-2026.
The
new law, which does not actually mention Glock pistols by name but
rather specific charcteristics common to Glock and Glock clones,
essentially calls them machinegun-convertible pistols.
It will be interesting to see what, if anything, Glock does about it.
Presumably various 2A groups have legal challenges ready to go.
The law does not effect any pistols on or after 07-01-2026 that are legally owned prior to that date.
