Boy videotapes confrontation with cop who parked motorcycle on sidewalk
The video has gone viral on the internet and everyone seems to think the little fart is cute. Well, he’s not! Many are praising him for his courage in facing down a cop. Courage my ass! From the get-go that kid knew the cop could not do anything to him. What the Las Vegas Metro Police officer did in parking his motorcycle on the sidewalk was wrong, but it did not warrant the abuse – yes, that’s what it was, abuse - thrown at him by this 12-year-old smartass.
When the officer emerged from a store where he had gone to get a drink, he was confronted by Jeremy Drew with camera phone in hand.
Drew said: “Umm, hello. Is there a reason for you to park on the sidewalk? Is it like an emergency or anything?” When the cop replies, "Cause I can," Drew asks for his badge number. As he gets on his motorcycle, the cop asks, "What are you, a junior lawyer?" Drew asks for the badge number again just before the cop drove off.
Unfortunately for the officer, he did not do himself any favor with his curt reply of "Cause I can."
I'm not defending the cop. He should not have parked his motorcycle on the sidewalk. But two wrongs don't make a right. That little asshole was baiting the cop, and that's abuse any way you look at it. And he relished showing his video all over cyberspace, thereby garnering disrespect not only for this cop, but for police officers everywhere.
There was a time when a 12-year-old boy coming across a police motorcycle like this would have waited for the cop to come out of the store and asked him a lot of questions about his job, his gun, the cycle's red lights and siren, how fast it will go, etc., but sadly those days appear to be relegating into the ash heap of history.
This incident illustrates the growing trend among kids, as well as among adults, of disrespecting authority and those that enforce our laws and maintain order in our society. There’s absolutely nothing cute about what that little fart did!

I wholeheartedly agree. Kids these days have no respect for authority.
