Juan Zarate, 38, of San Francisco was arrested at the PetSmart store on S. El Camino in San Mateo after the cops came to believe he killed a dog in his care.
A 47-year old man brought his 1-year old Dachshund into the store for grooming on Sunday. About three minutes into the process Zarate brought the dog out and said the dog was suffering a medical emergency. The dog had two broken ribs, one of which punctured a lung. The in-house vet was unable to save the dog.
Zarate has been suspended from employment pending further investigation.
Personally I hope they hang the sonofabitch. I detest dog beaters.
