Who shall protect us from those who protect us?

It seems that a large segment of the Baltimore MD. P. D. get a lot of their inspiration from the Mexican police. Their activities seem to include selling seized guns back into the community, stealing cash and selling both illegal drugs and stolen prescription drugs back into their community. Six cops have already pleaded guilty and four more are now ratting out two others.
Most of the bad actors were members of the Gun Trace Task Force.
The prosecutor has already been forced to drop 125 cases related to this task force. As many as 3,000 additional cases could be in peril. The feds are pursuing the case with considerable vigor, with considerable justification.

Task forces and undercover units all need tight supervision. Did the supervisor allow this unit to run amuck?
I would rather the prosecutors dismiss all the gun charges brought by these alleged crooked cops charges than let an innocent person be prosecuted.
