Britain has not had a death penalty for several decades. They also seldom extradite people who may face a possible death penalty if they are convicted.
Two Brits were captured in eastern Syria in January. The men are Alexanda Kotey and El Shafee El-Sheikh. They are (allegedly) part of a vicious British goat-fucker group known for barbaric cruelty to hostages. Their HMFIC, known as Jihadi John, was greased by a drone strike three years back. The group regularly beheads prisoners, including journalists.
It seems that the Home Secretary, Sajid Javid, has NOT sent the typical letter to the U. S. demanding that they not be executed.
It was not completely clear from the news article I read who has physical custody of the goat-fuckers right now.
