DETROIT ADOPTS INSANE AMMUNITION LAW

by Bob Walsh

The Detroit City Council has just adopted a "bullet bill" originally crafted by Reggie Davis, a Wayne County Commissioner. The local bill was sponsored by City Council member Andre Spivey.

The bill includes a new tax on ammunition and the requirement to have a mental health background check before you could buy ammunition. The original idea was to require that ammunition sales be "handled" by the police department. This requirement did not make it into the city law.

The ammunition tax will make it harder for poorer private citizens to defend themselves with legal firearms, but will not impact criminals in the slightest. The idiots pushing this do not seem to care. They are going for a similar law at the state level.

I wonder if it will be applied to individual police officers? I somehow doubt it.
