David James Bohart, 34, is accused of killing his girlfriend Marika Jones, 49, on the same day he was released from an Arizona state prison.

He was arrested at a hotel on Friday on suspicion of second-degree murder. Tucson police said they found the mother-of-one with stab wounds at a house two days earlier as well as a file of prison records on Bohart.

Tucson police say a man using a false name called 911 to report he had just been released from prison and killed his girlfriend.

Bohart served two previous stints in prison, one for a forgery conviction and the other for possession or use of dangerous drugs.

EDITOR’S NOTE: All you prison reformers should point out that Bohart should never have been imprisoned in the first place because all of his prison sentences were for non-violent crimes.
