Gaza Rockets Hit Israel Following IDF Operation in Shechem
Is this new “cycle of violence” indicative of the harsher anti-terror action we can expect from Israel’s new government?

Air raid sirens sounded in Ashkelon, Sderot and other communities near the Gaza Strip border early Thursday morning around 4:00 a.m. local time.
According to Israeli officials, six rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory. Five were intercepted by the Iron Dome, and one missile struck open ground. The Iron Dome accurately calculates where the rockets will land, and does not waste ammunition on those that pose no threat.
In retaliation for the rocket fire, Israeli fighter jets attacked a Hamas weapons production facility in the central Gaza Strip.
A Hamas weapons depot in the northern Gaza Strip that is used by the terror group’s “navy” was also hit.
“The IDF holds the Hamas terrorist organization responsible for all terrorist activities originating from the Gaza Strip, and it will bear the consequences for security violations against Israel,” the IDF statement read.
Battle of Shechem
The rocket fire from Gaza began hours after the Israeli anti-terror operation in Shechem (Nablus) in which IDF soldiers killed 10 terrorists, some of whom were planning an attack in the coming days.
According to the Palestinian Authority Health Bureau, more than 100 people were injured in the clashes between IDF soldiers and terrorists.
A spokesman for the Israeli army said: “Had the wanted persons surrendered, the incident could have ended quickly. Those injured and killed were armed terrorists who fired on soldiers.”
Ben-Gvir effect
Now begins the “cycle of violence” that many observers feared after the formation of the government with Itamar Ben-Gvir. The military action in Shechem, which escalated into a full-fledged battle, was possibly ordered due to the influence of Ben-Gvir, who expects his soldiers to stop treating the Arab terrorists with kid gloves.
The ensuing rocket fire from Hamas was to be expected, as was retaliatory Israel Air Force action.
Will the situation continue to escalate, or will the terrorists in Gaza and Judea and Samaria lay down their arms?
