JANUARY 6 CASE AGAINST TRUMP DECALENDARED

On Friday the legal case against Donald Trump relating to his alleged fomenting of insurrection on January 6 has now been removed from the court calendar.  This is due to ongoing appeals and other court cases that have to be settled before this case can effectively moved forward.  That means it is unlikely that this case will go anywhere prior to the November election.

All of this means that it seems like the only case likely to go anywhere before the election is the New York "Trump lied about his net worth" case.  This is without any reasonable question a truly weak, garbage case.  Trump is accused of overstating the value of real estate used as loan security.  In all of the instances the lenders did their due diligence and did their own valuation of the proposed security.  In all cases the loans were successfully repaid.  In no case did any of the lenders make any sort of complaint.  Never the less the state of New York is attempting to break up his real estate "empire" and fine him hundreds of millions of dollars for his alleged nastiness.  The New York A. G. made "getting Trump" the principle point of her election campaign so it is hard to say that she is not biased.

None of this means the 10% in the middle will either now vote for Trump, or against Biden, or against Trump, or for Biden.  The electorate is now so polarized that the typical 20% in the middle has been shrinking.  The November election may very well be decided by a total of 25,000 people in five, or six, or seven swing states.  Will Biden's clear mental decline or Trump's allegedly perfidy be the bigger issue?

In a few weeks we will know 100% for sure if Trump will be the GOP standard bearer.  We won't know for sure about Biden until the Democrat-Socialist convention, unless of course he strokes out before then.  Then we won't know who his stand-in will be until after their convention anyway.

Damn, isn't politics fun to watch?
