BEING FELONY STUPID IS JUST ASKING TO BE SHOT

On February 13 Officer Steven Laughlin of the Bryan, TX P.D. responded to a disturbance call. A woman called and said her boyfriend showed up in violation of a protection order and refused to leave. When Officer Laughlin showed up the bf, Calvin Baker, who had previously left, showed up again. The officer interviewed the woman but Baker refused to talk to him.

Laughlin repeatedly directed Baker to show him his hands. He refused and laughed a lot, asking the officer if he "was ready." Fortunately this whole interchange was recorded.

At some point Baker suddenly pulled a black object out of his pocket and Officer Laughlin shot his happy ass. Five times. Baker is likely to make a full recovery. Must have a decent hospital there.

Both the Brazos County DA and the Texas Rangers are saying that the officer's actions were fully justified. I am inclined to agree. Besides, some people just ask to be shot.
