The push to get a mandatory
voter ID law is moving forward in the formerly great state of
California.  It seems at the moment likely that a ballot initiative to
accomplish this goal will be on the ballot.  Right now about 65% of the
public support the idea.  The question is if they can get funding.  Even
a good idea costs money to get on the ballot.  Signature gatherers are
mostly professionals, and therefore expect to be paid.
My
belief, for what that might be worth to you, is that it will pass IF IT
GETS ON THE BALLOT.  The real step will be getting it to the ballot.
I will try to keep you posted.
