A few days ago the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals
invalidated the New Mexico waiting period for firearms purchases. It
was the opinion of the court that it is unconstitutional in view of the
Bruen decision and the lack of historical record.
The New Mexico governor, who is a notorious gun hater, has announced a planned appeal.
The
case has been sent back to the trial court which will, presumably,
overturn the law based on instructions from the 10th Circuit.
Gun
hating states without instant background checks (i.e. California) will
undoubtedly scream like mashed cats if this makes it all the way thru.
