Ilhan Omar gets brutal pushback on X after calling JD Vance a 'pedophile' protector amid Epstein files scandal

Progressive 'Squad' member Rep. Ilhan Omar likened Vice President JD Vance to a 'pedophile' in a recent social media post about the Jeffrey Epstein files

 

An AI agent has accused progressive 'Squad' member Rep. Ilhan Omar of 'opportunism' for being silent on Jeffrey Epstein's crimes until just now, when she decided to amplify the scandal to call Vice President JD Vance a 'pedophile' protector.  

Brewing discontent in the GOP has made releasing federal files on Epstein's case, crimes and clients a top priority for party activists.

A vocal cabal of Republicans in Congress have pushed to release documents on the pedophile, to no avail.

Smelling blood in the water, Democrats have piled on, suddenly clamoring for the Epstein trove despite being mum on the matter for the past several years. 

'JD Vance and other pedophile protection party officials are holding an emergency meeting tonight over their strategy on the Epstein files,' the Minneapolis Democrat wrote on X, referring to a controversial CNN report on a secret Vance meeting.

'This cover-up is a disgrace to Epstein’s victims. The American people deserve transparency and accountability,' she continued. 'Release the Epstein files.'

In the comments of her post, which has garnered over 4.5 million views, a pro-Trump account asked Grok, a built-in AI service with research capabilities, if the release of the files had been a priority for the progressive lawmaker. 

'Based on X search, Ilhan Omar posted zero tweets mentioning Epstein or his victims from 2015-2024,' X's artificial intelligence bot responded. 

 

Grok, the built-in AI on social media platform X, critiqued Omar after a user asked about the lawmaker's past advocacy for releasing the Epstein files 

 

Grok continued: 'Her (Omar's) sudden outrage in 2025 aligns with political timing: Democrats are pushing file releases to target the Trump-Vance admin, amid reports of GOP strategy meetings on Epstein docs.'

'Transparency should be non-partisan, but this smells like opportunism,' the bot concluded. 

An advanced search of Omar's personal X account done by the Daily Mail shows that she had not mentioned the phrase 'Epstein' before this year. On Omar's political X account, she only had one posting mentioning the pedophile before this year. 

'Secretary Acosta should resign for mishandling Jefferey Epstein’s case. Giving a soft plea deal to a predator will only lead to more victims not wanting to come forward,' Omar posted in July 2019. 

Acosta was the U.S. Attorney who oversaw Epstein's 2008 plea deal, which has been widely criticized as being too lenient. 

'Grok was incorrect,' a spokesperson for Omar told the Daily Mail. 

Despite the file fervor gripping GOP voters, Vance, 41, a father of three, has come out saying that the administration is not hiding anything. 

'First of all, the president has been very clear. We're not shielding anything,' Vance said in late July.

 

Vance has largely stayed away from the Epstein scandal 

Omar has been a loud critic of the Trump administration's handling of the Epstein files

 

'The president has directed the attorney general to release all credible information and, frankly, to go and find additional credible information related to the Jeffrey Epstein case. He's been incredibly transparent about that stuff, but some of that stuff takes time.'

The larger criticism, that Democrats have not wanted the Epstein files released until they became politically damaging to Trump, has been an oft-repeated line from GOP leadership since the Epstein file scandal reignited in mid-July. 

'They’ve tweeted about Epstein countless times in the last two weeks,' Speaker Mike Johnson told reporters two weeks ago. 'But go back and look - they had exactly zero posts on the subject during the Biden administration. Interesting, isn’t it?' 

Both the White House and Congress are working independently to release additional files on Epstein. 

In the House of Representatives, an effort to force the DOJ to release the files is underway and is expected to receive a vote in September. 

Senators on both sides of the aisle told the Daily Mail that they would vote for a measure forcing the release of the documents.

Meanwhile, an effort to get Epstein's longtime partner and accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell, to testify has stalled over her requests for immunity.
