HAPPY 137TH BIRTHDAY ..... AND IF YOUR WONDERING, NO, WE'RE NOT RELATED

In August 1888, Katz's humble beginnings started with a small deli storefront on the Lower East Side. Since then, we've proudly served generations of New Yorkers and visitors alike, offering  the same authentic Old-World flavors that have made us a staple of NYC cuisine & deli history. As we celebrate the anniversary of our founding, we want thank you - our loyal fans - for continuing to support our business and helping us to uphold deli traditions for 137 years and counting.    137 years on the corner of Ludlow & E Houston St Pictured above is the same street corner over the decades. Our signage may have gone through a few iterations, but our pastrami & corned beef recipes have remained the same: slow brined, low smoked, and carved by hand.  We're proud to stand the test of time through generations, world wars, and a constantly changing New York City. We’ve served soldiers before they shipped off to fight, welcomed celebrities, hosted countless family celebrations, and become a symbol of classic New York culture. Through it all, our commitment has never changed—serving hand-carved pastrami, corned beef, and other Jewish deli staples the way they were meant to be enjoyed. 137 years later, we’re proud to still be here, slicing, stacking, and serving memories one sandwich at a time.
