DON'T PARK YOUR LIMO ON THE TRAIN TRACKS

by Bob Walsh

It was a pleasant early afternoon in the Napa Valley near St. Helena on Sunday when things went sideways. Literally. A vehicle described variously as a stretch limousine and a limousine bus stalled out or otherwise stopped on the tracks as the Wine Train was coming along. The wine train is a fairly slow and fairly light passenger excursion train that runs often in the Napa-Sonoma area. Even allowing for that you don't get a lot of traction between steel wheels and steel rails and the train T-boned the limo. The limo lost.

No one was seriously injured. The Napa Valley Railroad Police and the CHP are investigating.
