MOCKING A DYING MCCAIN HURT HASPEL'S CHANCES OF BECOMING DIRECTOR OF THE CIA

Someone present during an internal White House meeting leaked an untoward remark made by Kelly Sadler, a WH official, about Senator McCain

Where in Hell did Trump find some of the people on his staff? He’s fired several of them and should fire Kelly Sadler. The stupid and insensitive bitch reacted to Senator McCain’s vocal opposition to the nomination of Gina Haspel for CIA director by saying:

“It doesn’t matter, he’s dying anyway.”

Stupid is as stupid says. Even though Trump and McCain have been at odds from the get go, a WH official should never mock an antagonist who is suffering from brain cancer.

Sadler is a former opinion editor for The Washington Times. At the White House she is a special assistant assigned to the immigration issue. She puts out WH press releases on immigration.

Sadler’s untoward remark has infuriated senators on both sides of the aisle. You can expect the Democrats to gleefully jump on her remark, but several Republicans joined their Democratic colleagues in blasting away at Sadler.

Haspel’s nomination was already hanging by a thread and that stupid and insensitive remark may very well have cut that thread. She needed every Republican senator and hopefully a couple of Democrats too in order to get Senate approval. McCain and Senator Rand Paul have voiced strong opposition to Haspel's nomination and Sadler's remark may get other Republican senators to join them. If that happens, the nomination will be DOA.

A serious problem for Trump is that some members of his staff or other officials who attend WH meetings are only too eager to leak embarrassing or derogatory information to the media.

As for Sadler, she called Meghan McCain, the Senator’s daughter, to apologize, but the White House refuses to even acknowledge that the mocking happened.
