THAI CAVE RESCUERS DEFINE TRUE MEANING OF HERO

Thai navy SEALS, one of whom lost his life, and volunteers from around the globe risked their lives in a bid to save boys and their soccer coach trapped deep inside a flooded cave

I get so sick and tired of hearing football players referred to as heroes. And now the dipshits that are confronting Trump Administration officials in restaurants are called heroes too. Well, they are not heroes, they are just plain athletes and dipshits.

If you’re looking for true heroes, you need not look any further than for the Thai navy SEALS, one of whom lost his life, and the volunteers from around the globe who risked their lives in a bid to save 12 boys and their soccer coach trapped deep inside a flooded cave. The four divers and the doctor who stayed in the cavern with the boys and their coach while they were being rescued until the last one was safely brought to the surface define the true meaning of hero. So do the other divers who participated in the rescue. And the coach is a hero too for helping to keep the boys alive until they were found by a team of rescuers.

Of course, there are other true heroes. They are the soldiers who engage an enemy in combat in defense of our country. Try telling a soldier who lost his legs while fighting our enemies that some football player is a hero. Then there are the cops who risk their lives in confronting dangerous criminals and nutjobs. And there are the firefighters who will enter a burning building to rescue people trapped inside. There are also the civilians who risk their lives trying to save the lives of people trapped in submerged or burning cars, swimmers about to drown in a river, lake or ocean, and people trapped in a burning building.

To call some dipshit, be it a teacher or otherwise, a hero for confronting a Trump Administration official in a restaurant is a gross insult to the Thai cave rescuers, to our soldiers, cops and firefighters, and to the civilians who risk their lives trying to save others.

Referring to some fucking football player as a hero makes me want to puke.

Thank You.

In today's "everybody gets a trophy" society, that word has been cheapened to the point where it's become almost meaningless.

Such a shame.
