CALIFORNIA BIOLOGY STUDENTS ABOUT TO BE SPARED THE SHOCK OF ACTUALLY LEARNING BIOLOGY

by Bob Walsh

If Ash Kalra, (D-San Jose) gets his way K-12 students in both public and private schools will be prohibited by law from dissecting animals.

PETA thinks this is a wonderful idea by the way and suggests the use of models or computers as an appropriate substitute.

What the hell do you learn about biology from dissecting a computer?

Not sure why dissecting an animal is meaningful for K-12 graders. College biology and medical school, well of course. Younger kids, many of whom are marginal students anyway...not so much.
