There was an unruly "side show" in East Oakland on Sunday. It left an AC Transit bus and a tractor-trailer flaming wrecks and piles of debris in the street that took hours to clean up. The chaos erupted at International Blvd and 42nd St with about 1,000 spectators.
The crowd pelted the cops with rocks, bottles and fireworks. At least one cop was hurt. The truck was looted. The bus will cost $750,000 to replace.
The cops issued 200 citations and recovered several ditched firearms.
I often think they should just put a fence around Oakland, declare it an abandoned area and let the locals burn the shithole to the ground. Its a damn shame but Oakland used to be a solid, blue-collar working class city. Its now an open-air toilet.
