WASHINGTON, D.C.: President Joe Biden is being heavily criticized after he left the Medal of Honor ceremony early on Tuesday, September 6.
In Tuesday’s event, President Biden was seen honoring Army pilot Capt. Larry Taylor, 81, who risked his life while saving four members of a reconnaissance team during the Vietnam War, per Associated Press.
The President was also seen without a face mask while he was presenting one of the most coveted military honors to Capt. Taylor. While First Lady Jill Biden has tested positive for Covid, the POTUS had tested negative.
Both Taylor and the President opened the occasion wearing face masks, but later both of them put their masks aside during the medal ceremony.
Biden was also seen leaving the occasion early even before the concluding prayer, which drew immense flak from social media users.
How old is Joe Biden?
The 46th and the current President of the United States, Joe Biden is 80 years old.
As per a poll, about three-quarters of Americans say Biden is too old for second term, per The Guardian.
Moreover, per Franklin Foer who wrote ‘The Last Politician: Inside Joe Biden’s White House and the Struggle for America’s Future’, “In private, he would occasionally admit that he felt tired.”
Foer wrote in the book, “His advanced years were a hindrance, depriving him of the energy to cast a robust public presence or the ability to easily conjure a name.”
The author further added, “It was striking that he took so few morning meetings or presided over so few public events before 10am. His public persona reflected physical decline and time’s dulling of mental faculties that no pill or exercise regime can resist.”
Moreover, people have also started noticing his slip-ups in various clips of the President. He was criticized for taking a vacation for most of the days last month, in August.
When the President was asked about him spending time in his Beach House in Delaware, he replied in a cryptic way, inciting further criticisms.
He told the interviewers, "I know you [think] I'm on vacation. I'm not. I have no home to go to."
Biden dubbed an 'embarrassment' by angry Americans
As the President left the 'Medal of Honor' ceremony early, the netizens were not impressed by him, with many taking to social media to vent out their anger.
"What an embarrassment!" said an angry social media user.
Someone else quipped on his rumored mental health deterioration, tweeting, "No amount of drugs can control the cognitive decline it’s progressive."
"How embarrassing. JB- Okay guys, I put the pretty necklace on that person, can I have my ice cream now," commented another.
Someone else deemed him to be "awkward" and said, "WTF he's becoming more and more awkward, not knowing where to go and now when to leave the stage. Walking straight up the aisle was so odd...as the medal recipient stood there alone."
"Biden voters must be so proud. What an embarrassment," chimed in someone else.
Sharing Biden's quote "Biden: "Well, there is a lot going on,"" another Twitter user posted a gif of the POTUS on the beach.
"Probably a diaper incident," mocked another user.
Someone else said, "Biden is anti christ," referencing how Biden missed the concluding prayer.
"Beach calling," said another.

Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Wednesday that President Joe Biden bailed from Tuesday's Medal of Honor ceremony before the final prayer to protect people from COVID exposure.
She also tried to defend his inconsistent mask use on the heels of first lady Jill Biden testing positive for COVID on Monday.
