SOME ERRORS IN JUDGEMENT ARE DIFFICULT TO RECOVER FROM

By Bob Wa;sh

Family members and supporters protested outside the Aurora Municipal Center after body camera video was released in the police killing of 14-year-old Jor’Dell Richardson.

Jor'Dell Richardson is never going to see 15 because he was shot to death by the cops at age 14 for being stupid.

He was busy robbing a convenience store on June 1 in Aurora, Colorado.  He was armed with what turned out to be a pellet gun but which looked like a very real semi-automatic pistol.  He threatened the clerks with the gun and snatched up a bunch of vape pens, then beat feet.

A patrolling cop had seen a bunch of kids wearing face masks, hanging around and acting squirrely and called for backup shortly before the robbery (and it was a robbery, not shop lifting) went down and response was on the way.

The cops chased Richardson and he was tackled by Officer Cruszeczka.  You can hear Richardson saying, " Stop, please, you got me."  However, he refused to let go of his weapon and continued to fight with the officer.  The officer can be heard plainly yelling at the kid to let go of the gun.  Officer James Snapp fired one round at Richardson which killed him.

The prosecutors have just determined that the shooting was justified and that the officers will NOT be charged.  The shooting was determined to be "objectively reasonable" based on the belief by the officers that the gun was a real firearm.

Sometimes things don't go as planned. Criminals risk being shot when they display a weapon whether real or only 1/2 real.
