Dorina Lisson sent me a report from the October 11 (in Australia) issue of the Herald Sun that indicates the 14-year-old pot head may not be sentenced to prison after all. Here are a few excerpts from the Sun:
__Indonesian drug squad head My Mulyadi told local media his team would recommend the youth be charged under article 128, which states the minor will not be sentenced to a jail term. … “Article 128 is the most appropriate because he is a minor and a user.” … Last week, psychiatrist Donny Thong revealed the teen had used marijuana occasionally in the presence of friends during the past two years. This admission could lead a judge to recommend rehabilitation at home in Australia. … The schoolboy was arrested in Bali last week after he was allegedly caught with about $28 worth of marijuana. ………the boy could be freed into his parents' custody to serve a jail sentence in Australia.
Dorina also sent me a report from the October 10 (in Australia) issue of The Sydney Morning Herald about a movement by Australians to boycott Indonesia. Dorina wrote, “This is most likely to add fuel to the already burning fire !!!” Here is an excerpt from the Morning Herald:
__The New South Wales Police Commissioner, Andrew Scipione, said the boy's arrest should serve as a warning to all youngsters. ''If there's one message that comes out of this terrible incident, it's don't go overseas and commit crime, particularly drug crime. Because your life may change forever.''
It turns out the boy was on a holiday in Bali with his parents. My problem is with his dipshit parents. Either they were ignorant of his marijuana use or, if they knew of it, they obviously did not do anything about it and, worse yet, failed to inform the little shit that if he got caught with pot in Indonesia he could face very, very serious consequences.
Maybe a few days in that Indonesian prison would serve as an incentive to stop smoking pot. And this case proves that some parents are not fit to have any children.
