NEAR-RIOTING BY IDIOTS WHO CAN ILL AFFORD $180 SHOES

Nike made its new $180 retro Air Jordans available for purchase on Friday. All over the country people camped out and lined up outside malls and stores for a chance to buy those over-glorified, over-priced athletic shoes.

At many locations, the police had to be called out in force to deal with near-riotous conditions. In Seattle cops had to use pepper spray to break up fights over people cutting in line and shoving. In the Houston area suburb of Humble, there were fights and some mall doors were broken. In several locations some people, including small children, were trampled as the mobs swarmed into stores.

I saw video clips from all over the country, and the one thing that stood out was the fact that most of those waiting in line and rushing into the stores were people of color. I wonder how many of those folks are on welfare. And even if they are not on welfare, can they really afford to pay $180 for a pair of athletic shoes? I doubt it.

What makes those Nikes so expensive? They carry the name of Michael Jordan despite the fact he hasn’t played basketball in eight years. You can buy any number of athletic shoes just as good as the retro Air Jordans for around 30 to 40 bucks.

And by pointing out that most of the idiots charging into malls and stores to buy those shoes were people of color, possibly on welfare, I am leaving myself open to be targeted as a racist.
