DESPERATE TRUMP ONLY MAKES THINGS WORSE FOR HIMSELF

With the corona pandemic dragging on and the economy in shambles, Trump's reelection chances become dimmer and dimmer

It appears as though the corona pandemic will still be around by November3, the date of the election for president.  And if that's the case, the economy will still be in shambles.

No president has ever been reelected during an economic downfall.  As Bill Clinton's campaign strategist James Carville exclaimed in 1992: "It's the economy, stupid."

Trump has to be aware of this.  That's why on Thursday a desperate President threatened to delay the election, claiming that mail-in voting could lead to a 'rigged' and 'crooked' election.  

That led Steven Calabresi, the prominent co-founder of the conservative Federalist Society, to call Trump "Fascistic" and that he should be impeached immediately and removed from office.

And Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell said the election will happen on November 3 as scheduled.  "We'll cope with whatever the situation is in the election on November 3 as already scheduled," he said.  Other top Republicans echoed McConnell as well.

In any event, Trump does not have the authority to delay the election.  Only Congress can do that and with the Democrats control the House, hell will freeze over before they will delay what they see as a win for Joe 'White Obama' Biden.

As Trump's reelection chances become dimmer and dimmer, the President is not helping himself either.  On Tuesday he praised Dr. Stella Immanuel,  Houston's complete nutjob, for claiming that the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine was a “cure” for COVID-19 and that masks aren’t necessary.  According to the Daily Beast, Immanuel has claimed in the past that some gynecological ailments are caused by people having sex in a dream-world with demons, with the demonic semen as the origins of the afflictions.  She has also claimed that doctors used alien DNA in medical treatments, and that lizard-like “reptilian” aliens are involved in the United States government.

And as Biden keeps reminding people, Trump once suggested people should ingest toilet bowl cleaners to prevent or cure coronavirus.

Delay the election?  That's a sure sign of desperation.  Trump is only making things worse for himself by threatening to delay the election and by supporting a wacko doctor who thinks there are lizard-like “reptilian” aliens involved in the US government. 

If the economy is still in shambles and millions of Americans are unemployed by late October, even a comatose Biden or the dog catcher from Outhouse, Texas would defeat the incumbent president.
