Criminal Charge Filed In Sexual Harassment Beef
by Bob Walsh
This
is truly unusual and worthy of note. Christopher Lewis used to be a
Captain in the custody division at the Cal. State Prison, Susanville.
He was accused by a female office tech of a fairly egregious pattern of
sexual harassment, including pulling her down onto his lap and groping
her. She also asserted that, when she complained, her husband, who also
worked there, was subject to retaliation and harassment as was she.
The captain was actually charged with criminal misdemeanor assault in
Lassen County.
Lewis
resigned in October. The complainants civil case has been pending since
late 2018 and will no doubt be helped by Lewis pleading Nolo in the
criminal case.
Lewis caught a fine of $1006 and will do two years informal probation.
A
roughly similar case a couple of years back ended up with a $310,000
settlement for the office tech involved. Captain Lewis was not involved
in that case.
Lewis has declined thru his lawyer to make a comment.
