Classic firearm
I have a modest interest in classic motorcycles and a
more than modest interest in classic firearms. Both interests have been
tweaked recently.
A couple
of months ago I became aware that Royal Enfield motorcycles are now
manufactured in India. They are allegedly pretty decent and are getting
better as they go along. I got this from an article I stumbled across
in a motorcycle magazine.
Just
yesterday I came across another fun fact. A company in India is now
manufacturing Webley firearms, both classic and otherwise, and are at
least in theory preparing to go into international distribution. I
admit I would not mind having one of their Webley MkVI revolvers in .455
Webley. I already own a "real" one but it is pretty sad and ratty and
only marginally functional. A new one might be fun. They are also
going to release them in other calibers as the market allows for. a
Royal Irish Constabulary revolver might be cool too. Among the newer
designs are a scaled down GI .45 in .32 automatic. That could be fun.
Similar to the one Llama used to make. They also have a very small .45
auto with a 2 1/2" barrel. I am not a gunsmith but I was at one time a
pretty competent armorer. I can't imagine how they can get a locked
breach pistol with that fat a cartridge to function reliably with that
short a barrel. It will be interesting to see if that actually comes to
pass and if they will be available here in the People's Republic of
California.
I will try to keep you posted.

I liked the Llama .380. It was stylish even with the plastic grips. My old boss dropped his next to a toilet and it discharged in his Gluteus Maximus.
