Jermaine L. Bass, 32, was sentenced this week in Tampa, Florida to life for the first degree murder of his 5-year old daughter and 25-life for the attempted murder of his 8-year old son.

Bass asserted that the gun he was holding accidentally discharged four times, hitting his daughter in the head three times and his son in the head once.  Nobody believed his explanation for the August 2022 incident.

The children's mother, Shirley Bass, had returned to the home from work and had finished saying goodnight to the kids when she heard gunfire in the house.  She hauled ass to a neighbor and called the cops.  The cops found a Glock 42 .380 pistol at the scene.
