Two travelers had unfortunate
outcomes on trips recently, clearly demonstrating that you should not
try to function in potentially dangerous situations on autopilot. Also,
sometimes you are just plain not lucky.
If
you are a fan of the 80s you might remember the music group FASTER
PUSSYCAT. They were doing a gig on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship
recently. The lead singer, Taime Downe, and her partner, Kimberly
Burch, were on board. About 20 miles off of Miami the two women had
some sort of a heated disagreement fueled by alcohol. The end result
was that Burch ended up over the side and in the water. Search
operations have been discontinued and Burch was not located. She is
presumed to be dead.

Maria Eftimova
Maria Eftimova, 28, originally a denizen of Bulgaria, was what the
people who follow such things call a Travel Influencer. She was
climbing the north ridge of Tryfan mountain in Snowdonia, Wales, with
her bud Anna and Anna's father when she slipped and fell 65 feet. They
were unable to revive her. The mountain is only a tad over 3,000 feet
but is known to serious climbers as a dangerous climb due to challenging
physical conditions and rapidly changeable weather. The family has
managed to raise $24,000 thru an online funding program to help with the
costs of, among other things, sending her remains back to Bulgaria to
her family.
