Acting today the Supreme Court of the United States
declined to review a ruling from the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Former Fire Chief Ronald Hittle had been sacked. He claimed he was
discriminated against because he is a Christian. The Ninth Circuit
ruled that he didn't have enough proof to support his claim. The
Supreme Court, by declining to take the case, more or less agreed with
that position.
The City
Manager (who I have had dealings with and who I think is a jerk)
asserted, probably correctly, that they had ample reason to wave bye-bye
to Hittle and that his bible thumping was only a modest part of the
reasons he was sacked.
