Jaquan Blalock and the scene of the shooting
Jaquan Blalock, 17 at the time,
is undergoing legal action for the murder of Antoine Shropshire, 16,
back in May of 2023. He shot the dude 25 times with a full-auto Glock,
many of the rounds fired while Shropshire was laying on the ground
wounded.
It seems that the
shooting may have been gang related. It also may have been related to
kids being bullied by older kids. Or both. Or something else. There
is surveillance footage of the incident, which shows Blalock standing
over Shroprhire pumping rounds into him.
Blalock
is still in custody though on the 22nd there will be a pretrial release
hearing. I guess things happen really slowly in Will County,
Illinois. One would think that an in-your-face broad daylight murder
with witnesses and surveillance would have been prosecuted within two
years. One would be wrong.
