Valley Mills Elementary School
Carrie Rivers, 48, was upset over an assignment given to
her sixth-grade daughter at the Valley Mills Elementary School in Decatur
Township, Indiana. She went to school WITH A GUN in order to confront
the teacher about the assignment. The mom interpreted the assignment
that she believed to be promoting same-sex relationships.
Ms.
Rivers withdrew her rugrat from the school on April 9th and lodged a
complaint. The teacher responded that her daughter was not required to
do the assignment. At that time mom decided to show up at the school
with her gat. She was carrying the gun openly in a holster. That
resulted in her arrest, though she was kicked out of the slammer the
same day.
After that she
thought it would be smart to send Facebook IMs to the teacher. The
messages could reasonably be interpreted as threatening. Neither the
teacher nor her husband, who is a cop, were amused.
Rivers
asserted that she had "forgotten' she was carrying the gun. She has
been charged with carrying a gun on school property and harassment.
