Katie
Porter, Democrat, is running 18% right now, slightly more than one year
ahead of the election. All of her democrat challengers are in single
digits.
Steve Hilton, Republican, is running at 12%.
California
uses ranked choice voting so it is completely possible that there will
be two Democrats running against each other on the final ballot. It is
also theoretically possible that there will be two Republicans running
against each other, but nobody seems to think that is in any way more
than theoretically possible.
It
will be REALLY INTERESTING to see what happens with the Voter ID
Requirement amendment which will probably be on the ballot next
November. I strongly believe it will pass IF it gets on the ballot.
