An 11-year old boy in Perry County, PA deliberately murdered his father because daddy took away his Nintendo Switch which was a birthday present.

The cops responded to a home on South Market Street in Duncannon borough about 3:20 a.m. this past Tuesday and found Douglas Dietz, 42, deader than hell from a gunshot wound to the head.  The dead guy was laying in bed.

The dead guy's adopted son, Douglas Dietz, 11, told the cops he shot his father.

Statements indicate that the parents went to bed shortly after midnight after singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY to their son.  The son was able to access the parents bedroom via a connecting door in the parent's closet.  He retrieved the key for the gun safe from a dresser drawer while (allegedly) attempting to locate his Nintendo Switch.  He then opened the gun safe, retrieved a gun and ammo, loaded the gun, walked up to his sleeping parents and shot his father in the head.  He said he did so because he was angry.

The son has been charged with criminal homicide and is being held without bail.
