Prof. Marc Lamont Hill also co-authored a book with cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal
Tuesday on CNN, Columbia University Prof. Marc Lamont Hill referred to Christopher Dorner as a ‘superhero’ and as a ‘modern day Jango.’ When queried about Dorner’s killing spree, Hill told a CNN panel that it was “like watching ‘Django Unchained’ in real life. It’s kind of exciting!”
While Dorner has thousands of idiotic supporters on social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter, it is hard to fathom that a professor at prestigious Columbia University would heap praise on a man who murdered the daughter of a former LAPD captain, her college cop fiancé, a Riverside Police Officer and a San Bernardino Sheriff’s Officer.
As for Mumia Abu-Jamal, on December 9, 1981 he shot a Philadelphia cop in the back and while standing over the fallen officer, he blew his brains out with another shot. Hill not only co-authored a book with Jamal, but he was also one of the staunchest supporters of that worthless piece of excrement during the thirty years he roosted on Pennsylvania's death row. (In 2011, although upholding the conviction, a U.S. appellate court vacated Jamal’s death sentence. As the result of this tragic decision, the professor's good buddy was removed from death row in 2012.)
Apparently this scumbag professor feels compelled to take up the cause of his cop-murdering black brothers. After all, in Hill’s world the cops are oppressive, brutal, racist occupiers of black neighborhoods. To those who think like Hill, any black person who kills a cop is a hero.
Prof. Hill has a right to express his opinions under the First Amendment to our Constitution, no matter how reprehensible they may be. And his job at Columbia is protected under the principles of academic freedom. That gives me pause to find fault with our Constitution and the concept of academic freedom.
Now that Dorner’s killing spree has ended with his being charbroiled in a flaming cabin near Big Bear, we can only hope that a similar fate awaits cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal. And if the deaths of his cop-murdering black brothers break Prof. Hill’s heart, so much the better!
